<p>Specialist, Center for Future of Work</p> <p>Department: Workforce, Community & Economic Developoment</p> <p>Location: Advanced Technology Training Center</p> <p>Reports To: Exec Dir,Econ Dev & Pub Policy</p> <p>Recruitment Type: External/Internal</p> <p>Requisition ID: req5992</p> <p>Employment Type: Full-Time Support Staff</p> <p>Union Position: Non-Union</p> <p>Work Schedule: Standard College Hours: M-F, 8:30am-5pm</p> <p>Number of Openings: 1</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>SUMMARY</p> <p>The Specialist will support the vision and assist with the implementation of the Center for the Future of Work through activities focused on research, development of workshops to address skill development, public policy development and advocacy, and raise public awareness to help individuals and our community thrive in this evolving work environment. This role assists in ensuring that programs align with industry trends, employer needs, and the Center's mission to prepare the workforce of the future and drive economic growth in Northeast Ohio. The Specialist will foster partnerships with employers and community organizations, and coordinate program delivery to enhance student success.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</p> <ul> <li>Assists with the development and implementation of the Center including intake and general office processes, data collection and evaluation functions, and marketing and social media strategy </li><li>Ensures the Center's strategies are guided by relevant data and best practices </li><li>Helps develop and implement a plan to collect, analyze and report data on the impact of the Center for the Future of Work's effort to produce research, develop skills, recommend policies, and address social and economic impact of and for our workforce and regional employers </li><li>Builds and maintains partnerships with employers, community organizations, and policymakers to align programs with workforce needs </li><li>Assists with the identification and recruitment of internal and external partners to design and implement events that align with the goals of the center </li><li>Monitors program effectiveness and assists in the implementation of continuous improvement strategies to enhance program impact and outcomes </li><li>Works collaboratively with Tri-C staff to assist with all logistics for events and programs: space reservation, speaker logistics, food, invitations, and other related details </li><li>Assists in identifying opportunistic grant opportunities that support and expand Center goals </li><li>Coordinates with faculty, and supports them in integrating experiential learning opportunities to expand curricula; provides resources for faculty on emerging industry skills </li><li>Engages in initiatives that address economic mobility </li><li>Attends and assists with advisory board meetings and presentations </li><li>Provides additional assistance where needed </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in a related field </li></ul> <p>o Significant related experience may substitute for education</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of three years of experience in workforce development, program management, industry engagement, or related field </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Ability to effectively complete work assignments independently </li><li>Creativity, flexibility and ability to take initiative </li><li>Possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills </li><li>Possess strong organizational and time-management skills </li><li>Works accurately with great attention to detail </li><li>Ability to adjust to changing priorities and respond appropriately to deadlines </li><li>Demonstrated ability to adapt and respond quickly to the changing needs of the organization and its internal and external constituents </li><li>Ability to promote collaboration, foster a team environment and involve all stakeholders in decision-making processes </li><li>Demonstrated Intermediate-level proficiency with Microsoft: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint </li><li>Ability to confidentially and discreetly handle subject matters requiring privacy and sensitivity </li><li>Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key contacts to enhance workflow and quality </li><li>Sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of a diverse population </li></ul> <p>COMPETENCIES</p> <p>CRITICAL COMPETENCIES</p> <ul> <li>Quality of Work </li><li>Communication </li><li>Continuous Improvement </li></ul> <p>VERY IMPORTANT COMPETENCIES</p> <ul> <li>Collaboration </li><li>Service Focus </li></ul> <p>IMPORTANT COMPETENCIES</p> <ul> <li>Adaptability </li><li>Time Utilization </li></ul> <p>PERFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated project management experience </li><li>Demonstrated experience with grant writing </li><li>Demonstrated experience or working knowledge of academic systems </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated experience or working knowledge of higher education, the public sector and workforce training </li><li>Working knowledge of Salesforce or other CRM </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS</p> <p>(The demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.)</p> <ul> <li>The work is performed in a normal, professional office environment. </li><li>The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated </li><li>The employee may sit comfortably to perform the duties of the job and may perform repetitive motions with hands/fingers using a computer mouse and keyboard to type However, there will be walking; standing; bending; stooping; and carrying of various items and equipment </li><li>Work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite </li><li>May be required to work more than 8 hours during a workday </li></ul> <p>Special Note: This position is 100% grant funded.</p> <p>Special Note: Target Starting Salary Range: $38,300</p> <p>The final offer for the successful candidate is targeted to fall within this range but will be based upon an assessment of internal equity, the unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications in relation to the minimum and/or preferred job requirement(s).</p> <p>Special Note: If hired, you must reside in the state of Ohio and be within commuting distance of this work location/campus to respond to onsite work demands upon the employment start date and throughout the duration of your employment with the College, as outlined in 3354:1-40-01.1 Recruitment and Selection Procedure.</p> <p>Special Instructions to Applicants: During the application process, you may be required to attach a cover letter and/or resume.
