<p>Hiring Range: $110,000 - $135,000</p> <p>Full Time or Part Time: FULL TIME</p> <p>Additional Detail</p> <p>JOB DESCRIPTION</p> <p>The position emphasizes hand-on test automation development, optimization of test coverage, and proactive engagement with the broader project team to foster consistent, reliable and scalable testing practices. A successful candidate will be adept at integrating automated testing processes into Agile workflows and will continuously seek to refine and modernize testing tools and methodologies. This is a restricted position. Continued employment is contingent on the availability of grant or non-general funds Please note this position follows a hybrid work schedule to include both in-office and telework. Candidates must be able to work from the assigned work location in Virginia.</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Design, build and maintain robust automated test frameworks and reusable test scripts for legacy and new systems. </li><li>Develop and execute automated test cases to validate functionality, performance and reliability across platforms. </li><li>Partner with Business Analysts, Business Systems Analysts and Developers to understand project/system requirements and deliver optimal testing coverage. </li><li>Identify, document and track defects, working proactively with development teams to resolve issues efficiently. </li><li>Enhance and evolve testing strategies, tools and methodologies aligned with emerging best practices. </li><li>Implement and manage automated testing solutions within CI/CD pipelines for both on-prem and cloud architecture (Azure, AWS, etc.) environments. </li><li>Ensure compliance with quality standards, organizational procedures, COV security (Sec530 etc.) and industry benchmarks. </li><li>Document system testing information for repetition and replication across teams and systems where viable. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Experience in test automation using tools such as Selenium, Junit, TestNG, Cypress or similar, Selenium expertise preferred. </li><li>Proficiency in at least one programming language; .NET, C#, Python, JavaScript or other relevant technologies. C# proficiency preferred. </li><li>Experience and proficiency working within containerized environments such as Docker and Kubernetes. </li><li>Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD workflows using platforms such as GitLab, Github or Azure DevOps. </li><li>Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and the complete software development lifecycle (SDLC). </li><li>Demonstrated ability to debug, troubleshoot and optimize test scripts for high performance and precision. </li><li>Exceptional problem-solving mindset with a keen attention to detail. </li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams. </li></ul> <p>ABOUT US</p> <p>The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is the primary environmental permitting agency in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
