<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Ansonia Public Schools is looking for a School Climate Advisor at Ansonia Middle School School (Grades 6-8).</p> <p>TITLE: Student Support/School Climate Advisor</p> <p>Reports to: Building Principal</p> <p>EMPLOYEE QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Experience working with students in the grade levels served by the school. Must have at least an associate's degree, although a bachelor's degree is preferred. </li><li>Ability to work effectively with students, staff, administrators and parents. </li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills. </li><li>Possesses the ability to relate to students with behavioral problems. </li><li>Demonstrates effective problem solving, organizational skills, planning, record keeping and computer literacy skills. </li><li>Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education or the Superintendent/Assistant Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable. </li></ul> <p>JOB GOALS:</p> <ul> <li>To support the school administration in its mission to create and maintain a positive school climate. </li><li>To provide support, as requested, for a positive and structured in-school Student Support Center where students can address factors causing disciplinary issues such as time management, organization and study skills, and/or feelings of disconnection from the larger student body. </li></ul> <p>JOB DESCRIPTION:</p> <ul> <li>Works in conjunction with the part-time School Climate Advisor and attendance staff to input student discipline information into the appropriate computer-based program in order to maintain accurate records of student behavior and attendance. </li><li>Responsible for assisting other school staff during lunch to promote a positive school climate. </li><li>Assists with structured activities for students during recess. </li><li>Works collaboratively in developing schedules, routines, and coverage for the cafeteria, recess and student support center. </li><li>Consults with faculty, administrators and other special services personnel on student behavioral issues. </li><li>Maintains records related to the Student Support Center and inputs student discipline information into the appropriate computer-based program. </li><li>Additional responsibilities as determined by the building administrator. </li></ul> <p>to apply go to: www.applitracks.com/ansonia</p>
