<p>Work mode:</p> <p>This role will be onsite/hybrid.</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>Responsible for assisting in the design and development of new proprietary products for all lines. Responsible for the design assistance of Silver Star Christmas Cards, coordinating merchant ideas and independently developing new product. Responsible for new design applications to be used in creation of new personalized products.</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Stay aware of current trends, price structure, and product development of competition. </li><li>Maintain close communication with buyers and product development team to assist and gain partnership in focused and targeted new product. </li><li>Promote and help lead continuous improvement of existing products. </li><li>Independently develop and continuously bring new design concepts forward to the Merchandising group </li><li>Research and develop new sources for design and art </li><li>Work with freelance designers/artists as needed, guide and revise production of concepts and artwork. </li><li>Collaborate with personalization, merchandising, and creative departments to maximize success of new designs. </li><li>Design new product packaging and sales collateral materials </li></ul> <p>This is not an exhaustive list of duties or functions and may not necessarily comprise all the "essential functions" for purposes of the ADA</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Proficient skills in Adobe CS5.5 or higher (Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop) and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software </li><li>Ability to create technical drawings - Knowledge of CAD software is a plus </li><li>Skilled in photo/art manipulation and illustration </li><li>Knowledge of Prepress and print production skills </li><li>Ability to design for different aesthetics and customers </li><li>Knowledge of consumer and market trends </li><li>Creative thinker with strong art and design ability - Painting or drawing experience is a plus. </li><li>Excellent communication and organizational skills with ability to work both independently and as part of a team. </li><li>Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously with accuracy </li><li>Demonstrated ability to organize, multi-task daily job functions, and prioritize speed to market opportunities </li><li>Demonstrated communication skills across all levels of the organization </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <p>Office worker</p> <ul> <li>Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. </li><li>Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times. </li></ul>
