The District reserves the right to change this vacancy or not fill this vacancy based on further staffing changes, enrollment, or budget.</p> <p>Position: Extended Day Counselor Specialized Location:Chelmsford Elementary Schools/Parker Middle School/Chelmsford Community Education</p> <p>JOB DESCRIPTION: To coordinate the Community Education Programs to ensure proper instruction and activities for students REPORTS TO: Site Supervisor, Childcare Supervisor and Director of Community Education JOB GOAL: To provide an enriching, exciting, and fun after school experience to the children enrolled in our Chelmsford Community Education Programs, ensuring all participants have a memorable time during any activities provided</p> <p>PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>Perform various instructional, clerical and other related duties, under the direction of the teacher, to aid in meeting the objectives of the program, including the following:</p> <ol> <li>Attend Mandatory Training before Extended Day Starts (TBD) </li><li>Provide the daily program plan. </li><li>Designated adult to work assisting a child with physical, developmental or emotional delays. </li><li>Ability to work on the floor, lift over 50lbs and other physical requirements as needed. </li><li>Under direction of Supervisor collaboratively create plans and activities to help children with behavioral or physical challenges succeed. </li><li>Willingness to be trained, research supportive techniques as needed, and mentor colleagues in techniques. </li><li>Ability to implement and create activities for small groups. </li><li>Accept and adhere to all guidelines set forth. </li><li>Report necessary problems and/or information to supervisor. </li><li>Confer with teachers, team leaders and other appropriate personnel regarding students' individualized needs. </li><li>Supervise and interact with students. </li><li>Assume responsibility for all necessary personal care needs of the children. </li><li>Perform other related duties as directed or as responsibilities necessitate. </li><li>Attend and complete all required training. </li></ol> <p>TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:</p> <ul> <li>Individual shift time varies based on program needs and the needs of the students. </li></ul> <p>EVALUATION:Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in writing by the Site Supervisor.</p> <p>Please send letter of interest and resume to:</p> <p>Ms. Robyn Adams, Director Chelmsford Community Education 170 Dalton Road, Chelmsford, MA 01824 commed@chelmsford.kl2.ma.us</p>
