<p>REPORTS TO: Director of Special Education POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Director of Special Education, the Moderate Special Needs Teacher develops and provides specialized instruction to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities. This position includes supporting students with moderate special needs, with a particular focus on mathematics instruction, as well as implementing and sustaining the BRYT Model Bridge Program. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following: Provides direct specialized instruction in a small group, pull-out model, to address the instructional goals and objectives contained within each student's IEP. Provides inclusion services in general education settings in various content classes. Assesses student progress and determines any need for additional adjustments/support to instructional techniques. Participates in three-year re-evaluation meetings to provide input on a student's current level of performance. Coordinates the delivery of special education services in each student's IEP. Employs various teaching techniques, methods, and principles of learning to enable students to achieve their IEP goal(s). Helps develop, implement, and maintain IEPs for students inclusive of goals/objectives. Presents levels of educational performance, special education, and related services required to meet goals, and transition planning. Works collaboratively with general education, special education, and career and technical instructors to implement appropriate accommodations per student's IEP. Performs any other duties as assigned by the Superintendent and/or their designee. QUALIFICATIONS: Massachusetts DESE license in Moderate Disabilities required. Experience working with students with emotion, behavioral, or mental health needs preferred. Familiarity with BRYT (Bridge for Resilient Youth in Transition) Model Bridge Program. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Bilingual skills preferred. Must be authorized to work in the United States. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a 10 month position. This position is part of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Bay Path Teachers Association and the SWCRVSDC. SALARY: Appropriate step on Teacher's salary schedule pursuant to the BPTA CBA.
