Through direct student mentorship, curriculum implementation, and collaboration with educators, this position helps build a strong foundation of online learner presence across K-8. The coach works to ensure equitable access to learning by supporting students' technical skills, learner identity, independent learning habits, and social-emotional development.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities</p> <p>(These are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to the position.)</p> <p>Duty</p> <p>Major Tasks</p> <p>% Time</p> <ol> <li>Student Coaching & Intervention </li></ol> <p>Lead small group and 1:1 sessions with students needing additional support in executive functioning, online learning skills, and identity development. Facilitate new student onboarding and check-ins.</p> <p>50%</p> <ol start="2"> <li>Curriculum Delivery & Resource Implementation </li></ol> <p>Implement the Learner Presence Toolbox and related lesson resources focused on self-regulation, metacognition, and learner presence. Support classroom and advisory teachers with lesson integration.</p> <p>25%</p> <ol start="3"> <li>Educator Collaboration </li></ol> <p>Partner with teachers to co-plan, model, and reflect on learner presence strategies in morning meetings, advisories, and academic classes.</p> <p>15%</p> <ol start="4"> <li>Program Development & Student Leadership </li></ol> <p>Support peer mentoring and student digital leadership programs. Help refine learner presence practices based on student voice and developmental needs.</p> <p>10%</p> <p>Skills Required (tailor to job, not an individual)</p> <ul> <li> <p>Deep understanding of adolescent development and learner-centered practices</p> </li><li> <p>Strong facilitation and relationship-building skills with students</p> </li><li> <p>Familiarity with executive functioning, self-regulation, and metacognition frameworks</p> </li><li> <p>Comfort with technology, LMS platforms, and virtual communication tools</p> </li><li> <p>Culturally responsive and equity-focused approach to student support</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to use data and student feedback to inform ongoing intervention and support</p> </li><li> <p>Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams (teachers, administrators, families)</p> </li><li> <p>Capacity to build student agency and foster belonging in an online learning setting</p> </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience Required (can also state preferred, but required is minimum needed to do role)</p> <ul> <li> <p>MN Teaching License (required)</p> </li><li> <p>Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field (required)</p> </li><li> <p>Experience supporting students in online or blended learning environments (preferred)</p> </li></ul> <p>Profile and Preferences</p> <p>The ideal candidate:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Believes that all students can thrive in online learning with the right supports</p> </li><li> <p>Centers student voice and identity in their work</p> </li><li> <p>Builds meaningful relationships with students, families, and staff</p> </li><li> <p>Advocates for equitable practices that reduce barriers to access and engagement</p> </li><li> <p>Enjoys coaching and mentoring students toward personal growth and independence</p> </li><li> <p>Values reflection, feedback, and continuous improvement</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrates persistence, empathy, and creativity in solving student-centered challenges</p> </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions / Physical Requirements</p> <p>Work is performed in both remote and on-site school environments. The role involves direct contact with students via online and in-person formats.
