Internal candidates should always use Luma Opportunities.</p> <p>Position:</p> <p>The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is hiring a Building Facilities Specialist for the State Office located in Boise, ID. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for DEQ employees and visitors. If you have a blend of receptionist, facilities, and security experience, we encourage you to apply.</p> <p>Salary Range: $18.37-20.21</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Answer the main agency telephone, determining the nature of the call and route appropriately. Provide general information to employees and guests. </li><li>Greet and assist visitors to the State Office building, determining the purpose of their visit and directing them to their proper destination or contacting the appropriate DEQ employee to assist them. </li><li>Ensure visitors have proper identification visible and they do not enter any restricted areas unaccompanied. </li><li>Issue necessary paperwork for state identification cards and ensure accuracy of information, photograph employees and issue DEQ ID cards to staff to include janitorial crews. </li><li>Ensure buildings and vehicles are locked down and secure each evening. Work with the Safety Coordinator to update evacuation and other emergency plans and coordinate fire drills. </li><li>Monitor and report any security concerns related to building access. </li></ul> <p>Building maintenance and repairs:</p> <ul> <li>Maintain the office building, asset inventory, and agency vehicle fleet, including inspections, services, repairs, maintaining schedules, purchasing, registering, surplusing, disposing, and assisting employees and regional offices with the asset inventory and vehicle fleet. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Some knowledge of adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers. </li></ul> <p>This knowledge is typically gained by successfully completing high school math classes OR three (3) months experience using addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers, fractions, and decimals in a work setting.</p> <ul> <li>Experience providing customer service. </li></ul> <p>Typically met through at least three (3) months of customer service experience:</p> <p>"Customer service" in this case means that you would have spent a significant portion of your time in a job actively listening to, being attentive to, answering questions from, providing options to, fulfilling services for, solving problems for, and/or resolving complaints from multiple customers.</p> <p>(Typically, general reception duties are non-qualifying for this position.)</p> <ul> <li></li><li>Experience explaining and applying policies and procedures. </li></ul> <p>Typically gained by at least three (3) months of full time experience in a work setting explaining policies, procedures, or rules to customers.</p> <ul> <li>Experience using tools, equipment, materials, and common practices used in facility preparation including custodial work. </li></ul> <p>Typically gained by at least three (3) months of facility preparation experience such as cleaning meeting rooms, floors, tables, etc.</p> <ul> <li>Experience setting work priorities, interpreting written and oral instructions. </li></ul> <p>Typically gained through at least three (3) months of work experience which required you to interpret written and oral instructions in order to coordinate work and set priorities for multiple projects with varying deadlines, or for multiple supervisors.</p> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to sit and work on a computer for 2-4 hours at a time. </li><li>Ability to bend and reach for filing purposes. </li><li>Some periods of heavy reading and typing are required. </li><li>Ability to lift 30 pounds when working with file boxes. </li><li>Must have a valid driver's license </li><li>Ability to climb ladders, staircases, work on uneven terrain. </li><li>Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds over rough terrain. </li></ul> <p>Benefits:</p> <p>The State of Idaho offers a robust total compensation package, including medical, vision, and dental insurance; PERSI retirement benefits; paid sick, vacation, and parental leave; and 11 paid holidays per year.
