<p>AMSTI Math Specialist 6-12</p> <p>Salary Schedule Placement: Commensurate with education and experience according to Salary Schedule L1/C3 Rank 3</p> <p>AMSTI Salary Matrix: 11- month specialist $54,047-110,120.00</p> <p>Continued employment is contingent upon funding from the grant.</p> <p>In addition to adhering to the general guidelines as specified by the Faculty/Staff Handbook, the AMSTI Director, the Instructional Division Administrator, the President, and Alabama Community College System Board of Trustees, responsibilities include the following:</p> <ul> <li>Facilitate and/or participate in professional learning for teachers and/or administrators based on assignments and/or LEA needs, including online options, </li><li>Assist AMSTI-ALSDE in developing and maintaining common professional learning offerings and supporting resources for AMSTI and/or for the ALSDE, including online options, </li><li>Provide ongoing professional learning to AMSTI lead teachers, certified AMSTI facilitators, and/or instructional coaches, </li><li>Assist IHEs with planning and conducting preservice and continuing education/outreach activities, </li><li>Participate in AMSTI professional learning activities and staff meetings conducted by the ALSDE and Site Director, unless prior approval for absence is granted Educator Support, </li><li>Provide frequent, ongoing support and coaching to teachers, AMSTI lead teachers certified AMSTI facilitators, instructional coaches, and/or administrators based on assignments and/or LEA needs (in situations where the specialist is leading the classroom or team-teaching, the classroom teacher must always be present), </li><li>Assist AMSTI teachers in effectively using common planning time and Professional Learning Communities to improve instruction, </li><li>Assist in recruiting new AMSTI teachers and/or facilitators, </li><li>Conduct research on the effects of current math, science, and/or technology practices in AMSTI classrooms, as requested by the ALSDE, </li><li>Coordinate work through the AMSTI Site Director, collaborate with other specialists and communicate with all stakeholders, </li><li>Achieve and maintain proficiency in all standards, pedagogical content knowledge, and AMSTI lessons and practices through AMSTI-ALSDE and approved outside professional learning opportunities, based on the requirements Instructional Materials, </li><li>Work with materials managers to make site-level decisions based on teacher needs/requests, </li><li>Provide feedback to the ALSDE regarding customization of kits and materials to make them teacher/classroom friendly. Prior approval by the ALSDE is required. (Found in the Appendix - Found on Monday.com). All commitments found in this document are contingent upon the availability of funds as appropriated by the legislature. 30 General Duties, </li><li>Maintain records (including financial) and complete paperwork in a timely manner, </li><li>Participate in the development, maintenance, and promotion of AMSTI resources according to the resource development and PR requirements, </li><li>Communicate with AMSTI Site Director/PI and ALSDE in advance as it pertains to retirement or resignation plans (under normal circumstances, a minimum of six-month advance notice is requested), </li><li>Specialist responsibilities include but are not limited to those listed in all categories above; specialists may be required to perform other duties as assigned by the AMSTI Site Director or AMSTI-ALSDE, </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned by AMSTI Director, Instructional Division Administrator, or the President. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>A Bachelor's Degree in Math or related field from a regionally accredited institution,</p> </li><li> <p>Teacher certification from the alasde.edu website "http://tcert.alsde.edu" in Math or related field (A physical copy of the tcert must be included in application packet),</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience,</p> </li><li> <p>Effective oral and written communication skills.</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in Math or related field from a regionally accredited institution, </li><li>An understanding of and a commitment to the philosophy and mission of the Alabama Community College System, </li><li>Ability to handle multiple tasks and various situations in a professional manner, </li><li>Alabama Math Science & Technology Initiative experience. </li></ul> <p>WCCS is an equal opportunity employer and enrolled in E-Verify.
