<p>Overview</p> <p>Founded in 1948, Memorial Blood Centers (MBC), operated by New York Blood Center Enterprises, is one of the largest community-based, nonprofit blood collection and distribution organizations in the United States. MBC operates 10 donor centers in Minnesota and western Wisconsin and provides blood products, accredited reference lab services, infectious disease testing, and IVF/Reproductive Medicine services to 41 area hospitals. Assists in assuring compliance with federal regulations and industry standards. Provides outstanding customer service to internal and external customers. Approximately 75% of the job is spent in hospital services department and 25% of the job is driving and delivering orders.</p> <p>Schedule: 2nd Shift, Tuesday - Saturday: 2pm - 10:30pm</p> <p>Job Responsibilities:</p> <ol> <li>Performing and overseeing daily Hospital Service tasks (HSRD-1 tasks) </li></ol> <ul> <li>Hospital Orders: </li><li>Consigning </li><li>Shipping </li><li>Packing </li><li>Reconciliation </li><li>Irradiation/modification </li></ul> <ol start="2"> <li>Performing timely driving functions </li></ol> <ul> <li>Delivering hospital Transfusion Services blood component orders. </li><li>Performing whole blood pick-ups from Collections Van/Mobiles/Fixed sites. </li><li>Performing sample pick-ups for Reference Lab, Donor Testing, and Nat Lab. </li></ul> <ol start="3"> <li>Customer Service </li></ol> <ul> <li>Responsible for daily interactions with our hospital customers. Daily telephone communications with the hospital Transfusion Services allows for correct orders and component shipments </li></ul> <ol start="4"> <li>Equipment Maintenance </li></ol> <ul> <li>Maintains adequate knowledge of departmental equipment operation to monitor and troubleshoot problem situations with the Maintenance department and equipment support services. </li></ul> <ol start="5"> <li> <p>Maintains Hospital Services vehicles, department supplies, required forms, and reports.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains a working knowledge of federal regulations and industry standards for the storage, labeling, distribution and transport of blood component.</p> </li></ol> <p>The hourly rate for this position is $20.05/hr.
