<p>Position Summary</p> <p>Under the general supervision of the Financial Program Supervisor, this position is responsible for the operation of the Milwaukee Secure Detention Facility (MSDF) receiving and shipping dock and the maintenance of warehoused items. Duties include the receiving of materials purchased for the MSDF Canteen and attendant bookkeeping functions; shipping of materials through common carrier and through the MSDF delivery system to all intra-institution users, store received materials properly and maintain a neat, clean and safe warehouse environment.</p> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>This position is in pay schedule/range 03-10 with a starting pay rate of $19.05/hour, plus excellent benefits. Pay on appointment for current state employees may vary according to the applicable pay transaction provisions of the Compensations Plan, Wisconsin Administrative Code, and statutes. A twelve-month probationary period is required.</p> <p>Job Details</p> <p>Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.</p> <p>The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.</p> <p>The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Applicants will be assessed on experience, including the following:</p> <ul> <li>Experience ordering and receiving goods </li><li>Experience inspecting shipments and bills for accuracy </li><li>Experience performing inventory counts and using related software </li><li>Experience maintaining inventory and stocks </li><li>Experience following up on missing items or invoice questions with vendors </li><li>Experience supervising, training, and/or monitoring other staff on job duties </li></ul> <p>Special Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Must possess a valid Driver's License. </li><li>Operate a 21,000 lb. truck and be able to back in and/or out of loading docks and area. </li><li>Must meet the standards for driving a vehicle under the DOA Fleet Policy </li><li>Ability to climb on and off of truck beds. </li><li>Operate pallet jacks, forklifts and other equipment. </li><li>In the event of an urgent situation, the employee may be asked to work additional hours on their shift, holiday or weekend. </li></ul> <p>How To Apply</p> <p>To apply, click on "Apply for Job" to start the application process.
