<p>What to Expect</p> <p>As a Controls Technician, you will play a crucial role to support our production operations. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing automated equipment, PLCs, HMIs, and industrial networks to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, supporting maintenance teams, and ensuring equipment reliability. Controls Technicians are the first-responding problem solvers who manage machine breakdown recoveries to keep production running.</p> <p>What You'll Do</p> <ul> <li>Diagnose and repair PLC-controlled systems, HMIs, sensors, and other automation components to quickly restore production </li><li>Strong Electrical background including understanding electrical wiring diagrams and troubleshooting electrical cabinets ranging from 24 VDC to 480 VAC 3 phase </li><li>PLC/HMI programming and troubleshooting skills using different PLC/HMI platforms and programming styles </li><li>Configure, tune, and maintain VFDs, servo drives, and motion systems as required </li><li>Perform basic network troubleshooting (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, DeviceNet, Profibus) to restore communication between devices </li><li>Work closely with Controls Engineers, Equipment Engineers, and Maintenance Technicians to resolve recurring issues and implement improvements </li><li>Follow all LOTO, electrical safety, and company procedures when performing work on live systems </li></ul> <p>What You'll Bring</p> <ul> <li>3-5 years of experience on process automation and/or electromechanical systems </li><li>Ability to perform skilled termination of controls devices </li><li>Working knowledge of low voltage electrical systems from 24VDC to 480VAC </li><li>Ability to read and comprehend/interpret wiring diagrams, loop drawings, P&ID drawings, electrical prints, schematics, PLC code, and HMI screens </li><li>Strong knowledge in troubleshooting of motor controls, variable frequency drives, programmable controllers and other electronic components </li><li>Must have command of English language, both written and verbal </li></ul> <p>Essential Physical Demands</p> <ul> <li>Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day </li><li>Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours/day, including over varied and uneven terrain </li><li>Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 50 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs </li><li>Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach to install parts </li><li>Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours/day </li><li>Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures </li><li>Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing </li><li>Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: safety glasses, safety shoes, bump cap and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines </li></ul> <p>Compensation and Benefits</p> <p>Benefits</p> <p>Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire:</p> <ul> <li>Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deduction </li><li>Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits </li><li>Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contribution </li><li>Company Paid (Health Savings Accounts) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High-Deductible medical plan with HSA </li><li>Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) </li><li>401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits </li><li>Company paid Basic Life, AD&D </li><li>Short-term and long-term disability insurance (90 day waiting period) </li><li>Employee Assistance Program </li><li>Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions, Accrued hours for Hourly positions), and Paid Holidays </li><li>Back-up childcare and parenting support resources </li><li>Voluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insurance </li><li>Weight Loss and Tobacco Cessation Programs </li><li>Tesla Babies program </li><li>Commuter benefits </li><li>Employee discounts and perks program </li></ul> <p>Tesla is an Equal Opportunity employer.
