<p>Rivier University invites applications for the position of Director of Graduate Counseling Programs, which includes a M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and an M.Ed. in School Counseling. This is a twelve-month, full-time administrative position with an annual teaching load of twelve credits. The Director will report to the Dean of Counseling and Psychology. </p> <p>The Division of Counseling and Psychology encompasses three degree levels including an undergraduate B.A. in psychology, graduate counseling programs, and a Psy.D. in Counseling and School Psychology, recently accredited by APA. Supporting the University's overall commitment to behavioral health, the division will occupy fully renovated suite of offices, meeting rooms, conference facilities and collaboration spaces in the summer of 2025.</p> <p>The Director of Graduate Counseling Programs will oversee all aspects of the master's programs including but not limited to adjunct faculty hiring, course scheduling; admissions, advising, and maintaining academic standards. The position includes teaching twelve credit hours per year of graduate coursework and advisement of students completing doctoral scholarly projects. </p> <p>Administrative Leadership:</p> <ul> <li>Ensure that the University's Mission of "transforming hearts and minds to serve the world" is respected and promoted throughout the Counseling and Psychology Division: </li><li>Develop strategic initiatives for the University. </li><li>Participate in long-term planning and policy setting. </li><li>Provide innovative leadership designed to strengthen the counseling and psychology workforce development initiatives. </li><li>Manage administrative functions within graduate counseling programs </li><li>Maintain a visible presence on campus and within the greater Nashua community. </li></ul> <p>Academic Leadership:</p> <ul> <li>Recruit, support, assess, and expand a diverse faculty and adjunct faculty pool. </li><li>Support curriculum development and assessment especially as related to the graduate counseling programs. </li><li>Assure compliance with NECHE standards and best practice in graduate counseling programs. </li><li>Train, direct and work closely with the divisional administrative assistant to ensure effective office management. </li><li>Work closely with Enrollment Management and assist in student recruitment. </li><li>Promote institutional assessment and improvement. </li></ul> <p>The successful candidate must have an earned doctorate from an APA-accredited program in Counseling, School or Clinical Psychology or closely related field. The successful candidate will have a clearly expressed desire to contribute to the development of the programs and the model of training practitioner-scholars. </p> <ul> <li>Education: Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field. </li><li>Experience: Minimum of 5 years of graduate teaching and clinical experience with working knowledge of program coordination, advisement, and evaluation skills. Demonstrated evidence of effective teaching, administrative supervision, and program development. </li><li>Licensed or license eligible in mental health counseling or psychology as a professional counselor in New Hampshire. </li><li>Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively across administrative units. Possess knowledge of accreditation standards and processes.Competence in using technology for educational and administrative purposes. </li><li>Learning Modalities: Experience with online and hybrid program delivery. </li></ul> <p>To apply, applicants should send a letter of application, curriculum vitae and contact information for 3-5 professional references to: hr@rivier.edu.
