<p>About</p> <p>Boston Prep</p> <p>Boston Prep is a college-preparatory charter public district, made up of a single-site middle and high school. In 2025-2026, our community will include 700 students in grades 6-12, nearly 500 alumni, over 150 faculty members, and hundreds of families. The majority of our students and families reside in Dorchester, Roxbury, Mattapan, and Hyde Park. As a charter public school, we welcome all students via an impartial public lottery, and hold the same high expectations and ambitions for all of our students, including those with special needs and English language learners.</p> <p>Mission</p> <p>At Boston Prep, our mission is to prepare students to succeed in a four-year college and embody, in thought and action, lifelong ethical growth. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of our students and build a brighter future for our community.</p> <p>As a High School Support Services Teacher….</p> <p>You believe in creating an educational experience where students are able to see themselves reflected in the content of your class.</p> <p>Essential Job Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Meet regularly with fellow special educators, content teachers, paraprofessionals and related service providers to collaborate care for students and to provide coaching and support </li><li>Collaborate with the grade level teams to ensure students are successful within the school setting </li><li>Ensure all students with disabilities in an inclusion and partial inclusion setting are succeeding academically and behaviorally </li><li>Communicate the philosophy that all students, regardless of disability should be given the opportunity to succeed at the same level as their peers and should be fully expected to do so </li><li>Provides direct services in accordance with individualized educational plans (IEPs) or established 504 Plans </li><li>Participate in IEP meetings as needed; make specific recommendations, report progress </li><li>Keep daily logs and track service delivery in accordance with school systems </li><li>Maintain parent communication log, as needed, in cooperation with other school staff (i.e., phone log, e-mail, etc.). </li><li>Collaborate with all student service providers to identify and implement student accommodations in a variety of environments. </li><li>Maintain a respectful, positive, student centered professional attitude </li><li>Attend to assigned duties </li><li>Write or collaborate on writing of IEPs and 504 plans for students who receive support services </li><li>Actively participate/chair Team meetings </li><li>Attend staff meetings, in-service training, parent meetings, student-centered staff meetings </li><li>Compile individual student progress reports as required and within estimated timelines </li><li>Review of all cumulative records of assigned students including: IEPs, evaluations, progress notes, status reports, etc. </li><li>Oversee provision of services for all students with disabilities including, but not limited, to testing accommodations </li><li>Partner with the High School leadership team to ensure all state testing accommodations and other requirements are met for students with disabilities </li><li>Communicating frequently with students, families, and school leaders around academic and behavioral progress </li><li>Attending occasional after-school events </li></ul> <p>Qualifications include:</p> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Previous teaching experience is preferred, in a charter school setting is a plus. Experience with diverse student populations and inclusive education practices is a plus. </li></ul> <p>Education, Certifications, and Licensure:</p> <ul> <li>Education: </li></ul> <p>A bachelor's degree in education or a related field is required. Master's degree preferred.</p> <ul> <li>Certification: </li></ul> <p>Valid Massachusetts teaching license in the appropriate subject area.</p> <ul> <li>A passing score on the Communications & Literacy </li></ul> <p>MTEL, as well as a MTEL in the content area(s) they teach within their first year of employment at Boston Prep</p> <ul> <li> <p>An SEI Endorsement (core academic and special education teachers only) as defined by DESE, within their first year of employment at Boston Prep</p> </li><li> <p>Candidate must possess a Moderate and/or Severe Disabilities MA teaching license</p> </li></ul> <p>For more information, please visit our website at www.bostonprep.org.</p> <p>One Mission.
