<p>The Department of History, Politics, & Philosophy seeks a part-time instructor to teach our disciplinary courses, depending on demand. The instructor would be expected to teach 3-9 hours per week, provide timely feedback and grades to students, and work with the department chair or faculty representative in organizing the courses.</p> <p>Education: Minimum of a master's degree in relevant discipline</p> <p>Experience: Previous college teaching experience preferred</p> <p>Lipscomb University seeks to attract and retain highly qualified faculty and staff that share the University's values and will contribute to its mission and vision to be a leader among teaching universities bringing together the best of liberal arts and professional education in a Christian community of learning and service.</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of principles, methods and current developments in the academic discipline and in professional practice. </li><li>Knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques appropriate to teaching the courses assigned (undergraduate, adult learners, online, etc). </li><li>Ability to create a syllabus and effectively deliver the learning objectives of the course. </li><li>Ability to advise, instruct, manage, motivate, and evaluate students. </li><li>Ability to learn relevant sections of myLipscomb, Lipscomb University's online integrated database system for entering final grades and other student information requested. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. </li><li>Ability to effectively and appropriately integrate technology into the teaching and learning process. </li><li>Ability to successfully interact with students, other educators and educational institution representatives, and the general public in a professional manner. </li></ul>
