This position is responsible for ensuring technical accuracy, compliance with specifications, and maintaining timely documentation throughout the project lifecycle.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Review engineering drawings, specifications, and submittals for compliance with project requirements. </li><li>Assist in scheduling, budgeting, and procurement of materials and equipment. </li><li>Maintain project logs, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and daily reports. </li><li>Perform quantity take-offs and assist with cost estimates. </li><li>Conduct site inspections to monitor progress and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards. </li><li>Facilitate communication between clients, subcontractors, and internal teams. </li><li>Identify and resolve technical issues during construction. </li><li>Ensure all work meets DOT, USACE, and industry standards. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. </li><li>1-3 years of experience in construction or engineering, including internships. </li><li>Familiarity with heavy civil, bridge, or marine construction. </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software. </li><li>Strong organizational and communication skills. </li><li>Ability to work in field conditions and travel as needed. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of DOT specifications and marine construction practices. </li><li>Experience with AutoCAD or similar design tools. </li><li>OSHA safety training certification. </li><li>2+ years of project engineering experience with projects over $15 million. </li><li>Experience with Procore/Bluebeam, heavy civil construction, marine construction, highway construction, railroad, and foundation construction. </li><li>Nice to have experience in marine, open water, shoreline construction. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>The position requires onsite presence 5 days a week at the corporate office, unless assigned to work for Electric Boat at the Groton Office. The New London location features a 250,000 sq ft fabrication shop, and the company owns all their equipment and fabricates their own parts, maintaining high standards suitable for military-grade projects.
