The ELL Teacher will collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to provide high-quality instruction, differentiated support, and advocacy for students acquiring English.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned English language development instruction for multilingual learners.</p> </li><li> <p>Use a variety of instructional strategies to meet the diverse language and academic needs of ELLs.</p> </li><li> <p>Conduct ongoing language proficiency assessments and adjust instruction accordingly.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with content area and classroom teachers to support integrated language instruction across subjects.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide direct support to students in small groups or individual settings as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate regularly with families to share progress, provide resources, and support engagement in the school community.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain accurate student records and documentation as required by district, state, and federal guidelines.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in professional development and contribute to the development of inclusive practices for multilingual learners.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree in TESOL, ESL, Education, or a related field (Master's preferred)</p> </li><li> <p>Valid TESOL/ESOL certification or endorsement as required by the State of Connecticut</p> </li><li> <p>Experience working with English Language Learners in a school or educational setting</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of second language acquisition theories, CELP standards, and culturally responsive pedagogy</p> </li><li> <p>Strong interpersonal and communication skills</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to differentiate instruction and provide academic scaffolds</p> </li></ul>
