And if you're passionate about bicycles, you'll fit right in.</p> <p>ABOUT YOU:</p> <p>The Bike Technician Manager's job is to meet the Tech Plan for their department while delivering a high level customer service experience that builds trust and rapport with riders.</p> <p>Mike's Bikes' Technicians are known for their cutting-edge knowledge and expertise in the cycling community. We pride ourselves in offering honest and practical bike-related advice, and doing what is right by the customers. You will embody and have a solid understanding of Mike's Bikes' company values and safety programs to ensure everyone is happy and healthy.</p> <p>This position will be located at the Mike's Bikes Store in Walnut Creek 1615 N. California Blvd, Walnut Creek 94596</p> <p>WHAT DOES YOUR DAY JOB LOOK LIKE:</p> <p>General</p> <ul> <li>Ensure the our customers' needs, Technicians' needs, and the business's needs are being met. </li><li>Coordinate with the GM to ensure the tech department is seamlessly working with the Sales department </li></ul> <p>Customer Experience</p> <ul> <li>Ensure customers are greeted promptly at the service counter </li><li>Make certain all estimates are accurate and clear for customers </li><li>Confirm all bikes are ready when promised and make sure customers are properly notified </li><li>Verify quality of repair work </li></ul> <p>Leadership</p> <ul> <li>Maintain a successful and productive staff by teaching, encouraging, and coaching </li><li>Provide clear expectations and direction as well as give direct feedback for improvement </li><li>help your team grow by offering supportive feedback to negative, neutral and positive behavior </li></ul> <p>Productivity</p> <ul> <li>Understand the Tech plan and achieve results </li><li>Increase your productivity through effective booking and managing of staff </li><li>Schedule appropriately to ensure proper coverage </li></ul> <p>Procedures</p> <ul> <li>Properly execute all warranties and shipping procedures </li><li>Keep department inventory tagged, organized, and accurate </li><li>Maintain Standards of Cleanliness and Safety </li></ul> <p>WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:</p> <ul> <li>3+ years of experience with bicycle maintenance for a professional bike shop </li><li>Great communication skills, problem solver, and has strong attention to details </li><li>Strong organization skills and the ability to multitask </li><li>Thoughtful, self aware leader </li><li>High level knowledge of bicycle mechanics and the ability to resolve bike related issues in a timely manner </li><li>Stay up to date on the latest bike trends and technology </li><li>Ability to stand at a bike repair stand for an entire eight-hour work shift </li><li>Ability to use hand tools with repetitive motions, including twisting, pushing, and pulling 100% of the time </li><li>Must be able to work weekends as part of a regular schedule </li></ul> <p>PERKS</p> <ul> <li>Get paid to ride your bike! </li><li>Medical and dental benefits for full-time employees </li><li>Paid time off </li><li>401(k) plan with company matching </li><li>Tools, training, and a team that's as passionate about bikes as you are </li></ul> <p>HOURLY RANGE: A range from $27 - $30 per hour dependent on qualifications. This position will also be eligible for a bonus based on reaching biweekly performance goals.</p> <p>LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend and explain documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English. Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, in English.</p> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS FOR THE ROLE: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the overall duties and responsibilities of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use of hands and fingers, handle, or feel, reach above head with hands and arms, lift, push, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl, pull, talk and hear. The ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds' solo and up to 50 pounds' shoulder to height repetitively throughout the day. Vision may be corrected within normal range. The noise level in the work environment is loud.</p> <p>Requirements</p> <p>Previous experience repairing bicycles required.</p> <p>Good communication and problem-solving skills.</p> <p>Excellent problem-solving skills.</p> <p>Ability to lift 30 lbs overhead and 50 lbs to shoulder height.</p> <p>Ability to stand at a bike repair stand for an entire 8-hour work shift.</p> <p>Ability to use hand tools with repetitive motions, including twisting, pushing and pulling.</p> <p>Must be able to work weekends as part of a regular schedule.</p>
