The mission of DOC is to protect the citizens of the Commonwealth and to provide a safe, secure and humane environment for staff and offenders in carrying out the mandates of the legislative and judicial processes; and, to provide opportunities for offenders to acquire skills which facilitate non-criminal behavior. The Plumber Licensed at Green river Correctional Complex performs journeyman plumber duties in the construction, installation, alteration, maintenance, repair, remodeling, and removing of plumbing for the institution.</p> <p>Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:</p> <ul> <li>Oversees and maintains plumbing systems for the institution to include the installation and removal of plumbing lines. </li><li>Repairs existing plumbing system. </li><li>Provides recommendations to management. </li><li>Alters and replaces plumbing, boilers, and heating equipment. </li><li>Interprets plumbing specifications and blueprints of institutional plumbing layout. </li><li>Reviews incoming work orders. </li><li>Maintains supplies and ensures tools and equipment are in working order. </li><li>Maintains records and provides reports to management. </li><li>Ensures proper permits are obtained for projects. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Requirements</p> <p>EDUCATION: See Special Requirements.</p> <p>EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: NONE</p> <p>Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE</p> <p>Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: NONE</p> <p>SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must be licensed as a journeyman plumber by the Department of Housing, Buildings and Construction. https://dhbc.ky.gov/ https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/chapter.aspx?id=38833 Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification.
