<p>Performance Responsibilities:</p> <ol> <li>To serve as advocate for children and adolescents with special needs and provide direct services to students and their families in one-to-one relationships, as well as in groups. </li><li>To assist school personnel in developing a more responsive and therapeutic climate for students and to serve as consultant in supporting and evaluating programs in the school for the prevention, early detection and resolution of emotional and educational difficulties. </li><li>To act as liaison between school and community, encouraging interested community individuals to become more attuned to the needs of children and adolescents and to organize activities for stimulating healthy, positive growth in young people. </li><li>To help parents and family members to utilize their own abilities in solving family conflicts, to discover their individual and collective strengths, to understand their interdependence and influence upon each other, to find help and gain energy from services offered by the school and community. </li><li>To make referrals, when in need of those professional evaluation and treatment services not provided by the school, and to appropriate community resources. </li><li>To carry on social research and be willing to attend in-service training programs and workshops. </li><li>To serve as C.E.T. Chairperson and serve as a liaison with all special needs services to students. </li><li>Any other related duties as may be assigned by Administration </li></ol>
