<p>Expanding Community Outreach for Youth Gang Prevention</p> <p>The Frank Callen Boys & Girls Club's VISTA project, "Expanding Community Outreach for Youth Gang Prevention," is designed to build our fundraising capacity, youth outreach capacity, volunteer management capacity. Our Club employs a highly regarded, research-driven program for preventing youth gang joining called Gang Prevention Through Targeted Outreach (GPTTO), It includes outreach to the hardest to reach children and youth at risk of youth gang joining, between ages 8 and 18. The main goal is to serve as many at-risk children and youth as possible, so that we have a significant impact on the problem of youth gang joining in coastal GA. Further help on this page can be found by clicking here.</p> <p>Member Duties : We have 3 VISTA slots available. The Grants Coordinator will use their oral and written communication and technology skills to help us locate grants, write grant proposals and grant reports, maintaining a schedule that will increase our capacity for grants funding and meeting goals set for new grant awards over the service year. The Community Outreach & Volunteer Management Coordinator will visit community organizations to get their interest in referring at-risk youth to our Club to participate in our youth development programs. The member will maintain and develop these relationships, and track the number of youths referred to us. The member will become familiar with our current volunteer recruitment and management program, participating in volunteer recruitment to become familiar with the process.
