<p>Kforce has a client that is seeking a Data Engineer (Data Platform/Infrastructure Focus) in Greenwood Village, CO.</p> <p>Overview: We are seeking a Data Engineer with strong experience in building and optimizing data pipelines within a cloud-based environment. This role is focused on data infrastructure and pipeline development, supporting data science and production use cases-not analytics or reporting.</p> <p>You will work closely with data science teams to ensure they have reliable, well-structured data to power models and drive insights, while also helping evolve and modernize the underlying data platform.</p> <p>About the Role:</p> <ul> <li>This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building and optimizing data systems </li><li>You will operate in a dynamic environment where priorities may evolve as new data initiatives emerge </li><li>You will play a key role in enabling data science teams by delivering high-quality, reliable data pipelines </li></ul> <p>Duties Include:</p> <ul> <li>Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines for data science and production workloads </li><li>Partner with data scientists to source, ingest, and prepare data for modeling and feature development </li><li>Evaluate data availability and build solutions to ingest and structure new data sources </li><li>Optimize data processing jobs for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency </li><li>Develop and enhance data infrastructure, frameworks, and reusable components </li><li>Implement data quality checks, validation, and unit testing </li><li>Support production systems, including monitoring, troubleshooting, backfills, and enhancements </li><li>Help improve and modernize legacy pipelines and systems with technical debt* Strong SQL skills and deep understanding of data structures and transformations </li><li>Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) </li><li>Experience working with large-scale data processing tools such as Amazon EMR or similar </li><li>Proven ability to optimize and scale data pipelines, not just build them </li><li>Solid understanding of data architecture and pipeline design </li><li>Experience working in production environments, including debugging and performance tuning </li></ul> <p>Nice to Have:</p> <ul> <li>Experience with streaming technologies such as Apache Kafka </li><li>Familiarity with distributed processing frameworks like Apache Spark </li><li>Exposure to Scala or Java </li></ul>
