<p>Job Summary</p> <p>We are seeking an Ophthalmic Photographer to perform a variety of highly skilled duties associated with the operation of specialized equipment to allow physicians in the examination and diagnosis of eye diseases. Perform multiple ophthalmic imaging procedures including but not limited to: digital fluorescein/ICG angiography (including performing IV injections and related patient care), color fundus photography, optical coherence tomography, retinal thickness analysis, anterior segment slit-lamp biomicroscopy, goniography, external and O.R. photography, public, teaching, and Travel between sites may be required.</p> <p>Mission Statement</p> <p>Michigan Medicine improves the health of patients, populations and communities through excellence in education, patient care, community service, research and technology development, and through leadership activities in Michigan, nationally and internationally. Work at Michigan Medicine and become a victor for the greater good.</p> <p>What Benefits can you Look Forward to?</p> <ul> <li>Excellent medical, dental and vision coverage effective on your very first day </li><li>2:1 Match on retirement savings </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities*</p> <ul> <li>Performs fundus photography, Optical Coherence Tomography (anterior and posterior), external photography, specular microscopy slit lamp biomicroscopy, gonio, pre-op and OR imaging, fluorescein and ICG angiography, clinical trials portrait, publications relations photography or </li><li>A-scans, orbital ultrasound, quantify intraocular tumors, prepares ultrasound reports on patients with eye conditions </li><li>Injects patients with fluorescein and/or indocyanine green dyes </li><li>Provides imaging support for physicians and patients during evaluations under anesthesia </li><li>Instructs patients on proper positioning during the procedures </li><li>Lectures or teaches workshops at educational programs </li><li>Operates audio-visual equipment for conferences and symposiums </li><li>Explains special requirements for imaging and is responsible for the safety, mental and physical comfort of the patient </li><li>Interprets diagnostic images and reports for quality and clinical accuracy </li><li>Identify equipment malfunction and report description of problem to technical support personnel </li><li>Order and replenish supplies and medications in testing rooms as needed </li><li>Assist in cleaning and disinfecting exam chairs, working surfaces </li><li>Perform other related duties as assigned </li><li>Travel to community sites </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications*</p> <p>Senior Level:</p> <ul> <li>Associates degree in Photography, Imaging, Life Sciences or similar field or equivalent experience </li><li>Minimum of 10 years of ophthalmic imaging experience. Experience with IVFA and ICG, as well as fundus photography, OCT and/or ultrasonography. Work requires considerable knowledge of standard photographic techniques, materials, processes, and equipment. </li><li>Certified Retinal Angiographer (CRA)through the Ophthalmic Photographers' Society (OPS) Board of Certification or Registered Ophthalmic Ultrasound Biometrist (ROUB)through the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology </li><li>Certified for clinical trials </li></ul> <p>Underfill Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Associate's degree in photography, medical imaging, life science or equivalent experience is required. </li><li>3 years of professional experience. </li><li>Knows and applies the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of particular field of specialization. Certified as Optical Coherence Tomographer Certification (OCT-C) or Diagnostic Ophthalmic Sonographer (COOS) required. </li></ul> <p>Desired Qualifications*</p> <ul> <li>Certified Diagnostic Ophthalmic Sonographer certification </li><li>Registered Ophthalmic Ultrasound Biometrist certification </li></ul> <p>Modes of Work</p> <p>Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department.
