<p>GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:</p> <p>The Crane Operator is a hands-on role. The Crane Operator is responsible for operating an</p> <p>overhead crane to lift, move, position, and reposition loads while walking and operating the</p> <p>crane using hand controls. The Crane Operator must be able to stand and walk for 12 hours a day</p> <p>and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds in the plant.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Operation of various overhead cranes to move various products such as coils.</p> </li><li> <p>Inspection of cranes to ensure safety and optimal performance and routine maintenance.</p> </li><li> <p>Prioritization and Organization of production line requirements.</p> </li><li> <p>Use of all below the hook lifting devices-such as an additional hook connected below the</p> </li></ol> <p>main hook to assist with lifting and transporting certain product.</p> <ol start="5"> <li> <p>Operation of non-assigned cranes as necessary to assist with coverage gaps.</p> </li><li> <p>Working knowledge of Work Instructions and J.S.A's which will be provided to the</p> </li></ol> <p>Crane Operator.</p> <ol start="7"> <li>Must be able to use the computer for various reasons, including ongoing training, </li></ol> <p>maintain records, and incident reporting.</p> <ol start="8"> <li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ol> <p>SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Other duties as assigned</p> </li><li> <p>Participation in relevant continuous improvement programs.</p> </li></ol> <p>MINIMUM EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED required.</p> </li><li> <p>Must be able to read and speak the English language.</p> </li><li> <p>Must be able to pass a drug test, physical examination and a background check.</p> </li><li> <p>Must be able to stand and walk for up to 12 hours a day.</p> </li><li> <p>Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.</p> </li></ol> <p>PHYSICAL ABILITIES REQUIRED:</p> <ul> <li>Mobility in plant </li><li>While performing the duties of (this job), the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, </li></ul> <p>walk, etc.</p> <ul> <li>The employee is frequently required to make use of their hands for technical tasks </li><li>The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds </li><li>Visual ability with or without correction </li><li>Communication abilities </li></ul> <p>HEALTH AND SAFETY:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations</p> </li><li> <p>Follow Company safety rules</p> </li><li> <p>Report the absence of or defect in any protective equipment or clothing to the Supervisor</p> </li></ol> <p>or Manager immediately</p> <ol start="4"> <li>Use or wear the equipment, protective devices or clothing that is required to be used or </li></ol> <p>worn:</p> <p>a. Safety shoes</p> <p>b. Safety glasses</p> <p>c. Hearing protection</p> <p>d. Hard Hat</p> <p>Some areas may require additional personal protective equipment such as:</p> <p>e. Respirators; the respirator requires you to be clean shaven in order to comply with</p> <p>company policies and procedures as well as OSHA Regulations.</p> <p>f. Fire Retardant clothing</p> <p>g. Acid PPE</p> <ol start="5"> <li>Report to the Safety Coordinator, Group Lead or Supervisor any contravention of the </li></ol> <p>Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations or Company policy</p> <ol start="6"> <li> <p>Must follow all Lock out Tag out (LOTO) guidelines for designated machines</p> </li><li> <p>Must follow all Environmental Policies and Regulations</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain a clean and safe work area</p> </li></ol> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations</p> </li><li> <p>Clean, well ventilated and safe work areas.</p> </li></ol> <p>HUMAN RESOURCES:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Abiding by the Acerinox Code of Conduct</p> </li><li> <p>Keeping oneself informed through your company email account</p> </li><li> <p>Maintaining your Dynamic Policy Profile and all assigned learnings therein</p> </li><li> <p>Abiding by all security procedures</p> </li><li> <p>Must have strong written and verbal communication skills</p> </li><li> <p>Must be able to learn, adapt, and retain information</p> </li><li> <p>Must have strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills</p> </li></ol>
