<p>At the present time, a vacancy exists for an Orientation Coordinator position within the Brandywine Virtual Academy division of the Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU). This position serve as the primary point of contact for students beginning their educational journey at Brandywine Virtual Academy (BVA to include Philadelphia Virtual Academy). This pivotal role ensures a smooth and supportive onboarding experience by engaging directly with students, families, and partnering school districts. The position requires clear communication and guidance to help all stakeholders understand BVA's academic programs, expectations, and technology systems. In addition, this role is responsible for identifying and coordinating the academic and social-emotional supports necessary to set students up for long-term success in an online learning environment.</p> <p>The CCIU provides services to the 12 school districts in Chester County. This includes services to nearly 86,000 public and non-public school students and over 6,000 educators. The Chester County Intermediate Unit is one of 29 regional educational agencies established by law in Pennsylvania in 1971. Working between the Pennsylvania State Department of Education and the local school districts, the Intermediate Unit's mission is to provide services that can be offered most economically at the regional level.</p> <p>Are you motivated to create brighter futures for students, families, and the entire community? At the CCIU, we pride ourselves on the creativity, dedication, and collaborative spirit that our employees bring to their work every day, and we know that achieving success together takes a team approach!</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma </li><li>Experience troubleshooting computer- and technology-related issues preferred. </li><li>Experience hosting virtual classes preferred. </li></ul> <p>Duties & Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Assist students in resolving questions by connecting them with appropriate academic, technical, and support resources. </li><li>Attend and contribute to required trainings, professional development sessions, and meetings- virtually or in person-to stay current with BVA/PVA procedures and best practices. </li><li>Communicate clearly and consistently with families and district personnel using various methods (email, phone, virtual meetings, messaging apps) to address inquiries and provide updates. </li><li>Communicate key academic dates, including district testing windows (e.g., PSSA, Keystone, SAT), ensuring students and families are informed and prepared. </li><li>Communicate regularly and effectively with internal staff to ensure a seamless and successful onboarding experience for new students. </li><li>Develop and deliver approved PowerPoint presentations and other resources to guide students and parents through understanding BVA/PVA systems, policies, and expectations. </li><li>Explain student data, including how to track grades, progress, and performance metrics within BVA/PVA systems. </li><li>Guide students step-by-step in navigating BVA/PVA platforms, including learning management systems, communication tools, and student portals. </li><li>Host and facilitate student orientation sessions and lead parent informational meetings to ensure a comprehensive introduction to the program. </li><li>Maintain a consistent and supportive presence through email, phone calls, and virtual office hours to build trust and engagement with students, families, and district partners. </li><li>Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress through Orientation and ensure data integrity for reporting and support planning. </li><li>Maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment that fosters student engagement, accountability, and well-being. </li><li>Monitor and communicate student progress through Orientation to students, families, and school district stakeholders, offering timely feedback and guidance. </li><li>Promote BVA/PVA-sponsored events, resources, and enrichment opportunities that support student engagement and connection. </li><li>Provide first-level technical support for students and families; troubleshoot issues and escalate more complex concerns to the appropriate team. </li><li>Reinforce the importance of self-advocacy and independence by teaching students how to take ownership of their learning and seek help when needed. </li><li>Serve as a liaison between registrars, school districts, and BVA to verify and quality-check student enrollment information. </li><li>Support families and district partners in addressing academic, attendance, and engagement concerns, and collaborate on solutions for student success. </li><li>Support homeroom/advisory functions as assigned by BVA or district partners, ensuring a consistent point of connection for students. </li><li>Work closely with teachers and families by attending student-teacher conferences when requested, contributing insights from the orientation and onboarding phases. </li><li>Work collaboratively with district partners by participating in check-in meetings and providing updates on student onboarding and engagement. </li></ul> <p>Salary Range (2025-2026 rates):</p> <p>Support Staff, Level 11, non-exempt</p> <p>$23.69-$29.61 hourly Placement upon salary scale dependent upon years of experience in similar role.</p> <p>Schedule:</p> <p>Monday - Friday (200 days per year, 7.5 hours per day)</p> <p>AA</p> <p>Equal Opportunity Employer</p> <p>Chester County Intermediate Unit is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
