<p>Salary: $50,000</p> <p>I. Position Purpose</p> <p>The Assistant Director, Financial Aid/Veteran Services, is a key member of the Financial</p> <p>Aid Department. The position is responsible for the following: Provide logistic support in all</p> <p>aspects of the financial aid department; Provide leadership and management within the</p> <p>Financial Aid Department; Assist current and prospective students and families with</p> <p>financial issues; Provide liaison support with external lending institutions; Assist in the</p> <p>representation of the department internally & externally; Perform other duties as assigned</p> <p>and To serve our military population with education that leads to employability over the</p> <p>discourse of their career. Further, to help them charter a path to their financial</p> <p>independence over time</p> <p>II. Duties and Responsibilities</p> <p>Provide Logistic Support in all Aspects of the Financial Aid Department: Oversee the</p> <p>reconcilement of all financial aid program funds with bursar/fiscal offices; oversee the</p> <p>process of student loan applications including document and reconcile loan information;</p> <p>perform cost of attendance calculations; assist in the processing of financial aid</p> <p>packaging for students; perform special projects at the request of the director; read and</p> <p>interpret manuals, newsletters, and other federal, state, and institutional publications</p> <p>regarding policies or regulations impacting financial aid operations; work with director</p> <p>and technical staff to secure and integrate financial aid software program updates.</p> <p>Provide leadership and management within the Financial Aid Department: Along with</p> <p>and accordance to the direction of the Director of Financial Aid, provide leadership</p> <p>within the department to make process improvements within the department, focusing</p> <p>on improving the transparency and efficiency of the department and improving student</p> <p>experience. Manage day-to-day duties of Financial Aid staff as delegated by the</p> <p>Director of Financial Aid.</p> <p>Assist Current and Prospective Students and Families with Financial Issues: Assist</p> <p>students and prospective students with their finances by interfacing all aspects of a</p> <p>student's college finance; provide financial aid counseling as needed; coordinate</p> <p>student loan entrance and exit counseling.</p> <p>Provide Liaison Support with External Lending institutions: Act as a liaison between the</p> <p>College, banks, guarantee agencies, service providers and the Department of</p> <p>Education as needed; establish and secure signatures on necessary contracts; resolve</p> <p>student loan problems.</p> <p>Assist in the Representation of the Department Internally & Externally: Represent the</p> <p>Financial Aid Department at external functions such as financial aid nights, group</p> <p>presentations, career/college fairs and similar events and association meetings,</p> <p>workshops, seminars and presentations.</p> <p>Perform Veteran Services as follows:</p> <p>i. Maintain state and federal requirements to support Hocking College Military</p> <p>personnel, veterans and their families.</p> <p>ii. Assist veterans with benefit requests and required documentation.</p> <p>iii. Prioritizing prospective students leads and fosters outbound</p> <p>communication from themselves and their team to prospective students who</p> <p>have an interest in attending Hocking College</p> <p>Perform Other Duties as Assigned: Engage in professional development activities.</p> <p>III. Qualifications - Education, Experience, and Skills</p> <p>Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or related field required. Master's degree</p> <p>preferred.</p> <p>Minimum three years' work experience in a professional business setting, previous work</p> <p>in a Financial Aid office preferred.</p> <p>Ability to interpret and apply college fiscal rules, regulations, guidelines and systems in</p> <p>the student environment.</p> <p>Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply federal, state, and other financial aid</p> <p>rules, regulations, and guidelines.</p> <p>Ability to design and oversee integrated financial systems.</p> <p>Ability to handle confidential information professionally.</p> <p>Ability to handle information in an accurate and detailed manner.</p> <p>Ability to work alternate or flexible work schedules as needed.</p> <p>Strong communication and customer service skills.</p> <p>Attention to detail.</p> <p>Tactfulness, positive interpersonal skills and cooperative attitude.</p> <p>Ability to work with PC computers and basic financial aid software.</p> <p>Knowledge of Military Benefits and requirements.</p> <p>Must possess a valid Ohio Driver's license or be able to obtain one within 15 days of</p> <p>employment.</p> <p>Reasonable accommodations may be requested and reviewed according to the Americans with</p> <p>Disabilities Act (ADA).</p>
