Join our committed team and help shape the future we envision.</p> <p>Summary</p> <p>The Blood and Marrow Transplant and Cellular Immunotherapy Program at Moffitt Cancer Center is the largest and most active program of its kind in the Southeast. Committed to providing every aspect of treatment and supportive care in a single, convenient location, Moffitt is an established leader in the field of bone marrow transplantation. We are a National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) transplant and collection center, and we are fully accredited by the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT), speaking to the unwavering dedication and expertise of our team.</p> <p>Our Blood and Marrow Transplant and Cellular Immunotherapy Program serves patients with a number of hematological conditions, including leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, aplastic anemia and MDS, as well as select solid tumors. After individually assessing each patient's condition, our multispecialty team recommends the most appropriate transplant option. We routinely perform:</p> <ul> <li>Autologous and allogenic transplants </li><li>High-intensity and reduced-intensity transplants </li><li>Cord blood transplants </li><li>Peripheral blood stem cell transplants </li></ul> <p>Our BMT Clinic and Treatment Center cares for an average of 110 patients daily. We are currently looking for a Cellular Therapy Nurse Coordinator I to join our team.</p> <p>Position Highlights:</p> <ul> <li>The Cellular Therapy Nurse Coordinator I, is an experienced Registered Nurse with a history of working with Blood and Marrow Transplant and Cellular Immunotherapy patients. This person will serve as a primary nurse in the outpatient setting for a designated population of patients (primarily pre-BMT-CI and post-BMT-CI patients, but may also include patients with the diagnoses for which a transplant is indicated). Patients may be in the period from initial consult through long-term follow-up. </li><li>Under proper department mentorship, the Cellular Therapy Nurse Coordinator I, progressively increases performance to act independently with the utilization of excellent organization, communication, and critical thinking skills to work within an assigned patient care team to coordinate the patient experience including but not limited to: the scheduling, accuracy, and follow-up on all workup orders and procedures, assisting with patient and caregiver education, communicating with all stakeholders (verbally, written and electronically), and working in clinic performing ongoing assessments, nursing interventions, and maintaining documentation in accordance with the organization standards and regulatory guidelines. </li></ul> <p>The Ideal Candidate</p> <p>The ideal candidate will have the following:</p> <ul> <li>Hematology and oncology experience </li><li>Blood and marrow transplantation or cellular immunotherapy experience </li><li>Outpatient clinic setting experience or nursing coordination roles </li><li>OCN or BMTCN Certification </li><li>Extraordinary attention to detail </li><li>Strong ability to multitask </li><li>Positive and Encouraging </li><li>Supportive of elevated team dynamics </li></ul> <p>Minimum Experience Required</p> <ul> <li>Two years of relevant experience as an RN in BMT or cellular immunotherapy, inpatient or outpatient setting. OR </li><li>Two years relevant experience as an RN in Critical Care or a Critical Care-related area in oncology. Would consider: Five years of relevant experience as an RN in medical oncology, preferably in an outpatient setting. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Maintains knowledge in the provision of care, services, and symptom management to BMT and Hematology patients of various ages and abilities. Consistently and accurately gains skill in organizing and performing the duties of Primary Nurse, with minimal guidance, within the scope of practice to coordinate and document the various BMT/Hematology phases of care, related to the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical care in the outpatient environment while taking into consideration common symptoms for many toxicities, side effects and complications of treatment. </li><li>Functions as a team member working alongside physicians, APP's, nurses and support staff to coordinate care, communicate results, request assistance, and offer support as needed for defined patient panel. Partners with supportive services within Moffitt coordinate a plan of care including, but not limited to: evaluative testing, financial, pharmacy, donor services, admission, and follow-up care. Serves as the central coordinator for all the phases of care. Participates in evidence-based improvement activities related to area of practice. </li><li>Utilizes a variety of teaching methods to ensure patient and family understanding of the transplant process and individual responsibilities. Coordinates patient access to the support staff and teaching initiatives within the outpatient setting. </li><li>Demonstrates strong organizational skills and proficiency in operating multiple electronic applications and databases. Utilizes these applications and databases to monitor appointments, documentation, and results obtained in adherence with Nursing and Department Standards. </li></ul> <p>Credentials and Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>BSN from an ACEN or CCNE accredited institution with at least two years of relevant experience or ASN from an ACEN or CCNE accredited institution with 2 years of relevant experience. </li><li>FL RN License </li><li>BLS Certification </li></ul> <p>An applicant for this position, who will be or is seeking Florida licensure by endorsement, must not have any National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) reports, unless the applicant has successfully appealed to have their name removed from the NPDB.
