This is a public-facing, customer service-focused role where you'll assist individuals by issuing ID cards, driver licenses, and commercial driver licenses, as well as administering written and road tests. Explore our Total Compensation Calculator: https://compensationcalculator.wyo.gov</p> <p>Human Resource Contact: Stacy Woita 307-777-4423 or stacy.woita2@wyo.gov</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed in the job level.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Provides service to and interacts with the general public in professional and courteous manner, even during stressful and difficult situations; answers general questions pertaining to applications for various types of driver licenses and identification cards, questions pertaining to traffic laws, driver license, commercial driver license, and traffic laws, driver education, insurance requirements and organ donation.</p> </li><li> <p>Receives, reviews and issues all types of licenses, permit, identification card, disabled placards and concealed firearms permit applications, revisions, and renewals.</p> </li><li> <p>Determines applicants' eligibility for licensing by making inquiries and properly interpreting responses received through the state and national computer information systems.</p> </li><li> <p>Screens applicant's physical, mental and visual abilities to safely operate motor vehicles per state and federal law.</p> </li><li> <p>Administers computer-assisted written and vision tests, or other tests to applicants. Schedules applicants for driving skills tests.</p> </li><li> <p>Administers driving skills test examinations. Performs vehicle inspections prior to driving skills testing.</p> </li><li> <p>Advises applicants of suspensions, cancellations and revocations, and advises how to reinstate their driving privileges.</p> </li><li> <p>Accurately enters, processes, tracks, and reviews driver license and permit, identification card, disabled placard and concealed firearms permit data into appropriate computer applications, databases, and systems; operates signature and photo capture devices.</p> </li><li> <p>Collects appropriate fees for services and prepares receipts; ensures and accepts accountability per state policy that monies received balance with receipts issued.</p> </li><li> <p>Researches and communicates information related to license and permit requirements to the general public, agency staff, law enforcement, courts, other states, and government and elected officials; answers questions and explains licensing and permit requirements; accurately interprets driving record data, and supplies information regarding license and permit processing, policies, and procedures.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>PREFERENCES:</p> <p>(This section is used for recruitment purposes.)</p> <p>KNOWLEDGE:</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Education:</p> <p>Associate's Degree (typically in Business)</p> <p>Experience:</p> <p>0-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in business)</p> <p>OR</p> <p>Experience:</p> <p>2-4years of progressive work experience (typically in Business)</p> <p>Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:</p> <p>None</p> <p>Necessary Special Requirements</p> <p>PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:</p> <p>Travel is required to various WYDOT locations.</p> <p>NOTES:(This section is used for recruitment purposes.)</p> <ul> <li> <p>FLSA: Non-Exempt</p> </li><li> <p>Applicants must pass an FBI fingerprint check</p> </li><li> <p>Successful applicant will be subjected to a thorough background investigation</p> </li><li> <p>The Wyoming Department of Transportation is a Drug-Free Workplace</p> </li><li> <p>E-Verify: WYDOT usesE-Verify, an Internet-based system, to confirm the eligibility of all newly hired employees to work in the United States.
