<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Regional School District 8 is accepting applications for full time School Safety Officers for RHAM High School and RHAM Middle School beginning in the 2025/2026 school year. Under the supervision of school and district administration, safety officers help foster positive relationships with members of the school community by being a visible presence throughout the schools and school grounds while maintaining a safe and secure school environment. These positions are 10 month, 40 hours per week. Compensation for this position will be $25 an hour. Shifts will be flexible and may begin as early as 6:45 a.m. and may conclude as late as 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Law Enforcement or Department of Corrections experience preferred. </li><li>Prior work experience with two years of progressively responsible security and/or education experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities. </li><li>CPR and First Aid certification or the ability to successfully complete the certification program upon hiring. </li><li>Candidate must possess a valid Connecticut Driver's License </li></ul> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential responsibilities and functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations and are not meant to be exhaustive. The employee must be able to use strength to lift and carry items (up to 50 lbs), sit, stand and walk for long periods of time, reach, squat, kneel, climb stairs, speak and hear and use close vision, including peripheral vision and depth perception, reach with hands and arms and use hands and fingers to handle objects and operate tools, computers, and/or controls. The employee must be able to work in heat and cold based on seasonal temperatures inside buildings as well as outside.</p> <p>Regional School District 8 (RHAM) is a high-performing, regionalized secondary school district serving approximately 1,200 students in grades seven through twelve residing in the towns of Hebron, Andover, and Marlborough. The district consists of one middle school and one high school located on a shared campus in Hebron, CT.
