<p>Position Information</p> <p>Position Number 004299 Position Title Associate Vice President, Institutional Effectiveness - 004299 Division Academic Affairs Department 380100 - Institutional Effectiveness Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Doctoral degree from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama and seven years of progressively responsible professional academic experience in higher education as director, department chair or division head, dean and/or assistant or associate vice president.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Experience with SACSCOC accreditation is strongly preferred.</p> <p>Job Description Summary</p> <p>The University of South Alabama is seeking to hire an Associate Vice President, Institutional Effectiveness. Interested candidates should apply to be considered.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <p>These are the job duties required of the position.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Provides strategic leadership to advance accreditation, planning, and assessment across the University of South Alabama. </li><li>Fosters a culture of continuous improvement, promotes data-informed strategic planning and ensures compliance with accreditation standards. </li><li>Leads the institutional accreditation process by serving as the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) liaison. </li><li>Leads all aspects of institutional accreditation, including compliance, reaffirmation, quality enhancement plan, and substantive change. </li><li>Monitors and ensures compliance with federal and state regulatory requirements related to institutional accreditation and distance education. </li><li>Coordinates university-wide accreditation processes and guides the development of accreditation-related reports and documentation. </li><li>Collaborates with campus leadership deans, faculty, and staff to support programmatic accreditation processes and ensures alignment with institutional accreditation. </li><li>Oversees the University's institutional effectiveness process to ensure ongoing assessment and continuous improvement of academic programs, administrative units, and student support services. </li><li>Provides oversight of the Office of Academic Enhancement and the University's Quality Enhancement Plan. </li><li>Oversees the development, execution, and assessment of the University's strategic plan in alignment with the mission and vision of the organization, chairing the Institutional Planning and Assessment Committee and collaborating with the Board of Trustees Long Range Planning Committee. </li><li>Supervises the University's survey initiatives and web-based platform (e.g. Qualtrics), including student, faculty, staff, and alumni surveys, and oversees institutional participation in national studies such as National Survey of Student Engagement. </li><li>Oversees the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and the Office of Academic Enhancement. </li><li>Serves as an advisor and resource to University leadership, faculty, and staff on matters related to institutional planning, assessment, accreditation, and continuous improvement. </li><li>Collaborates with stakeholders at all levels of the organization - including Board of Trustees; divisional, college, and program leaders; the Faculty Senate; and faculty, staff, and students across the University - as well as members of the broader community to enhance continuous improvement processes and ensures compliance with accreditation standards. </li><li>Develops and implements processes to improve overall institutional effectiveness. </li><li>Provides training, workshops, and consultation to stakeholders to develop and implement best practices in assessment and accreditation processes. </li><li>Represents the University in external accreditation-related activities and professional organizations. </li><li>Leads a variety of academic affairs initiatives (e.g. Academic Calendar, Faculty Handbook, state transfers articulation agreements). </li><li>Manages a team of staff members and student workers, ensuring effective coordination of their projects and responsibilities. </li><li>Encompasses budget oversight, personnel management, and leadership of institutional effectiveness initiatives. </li><li>Regular and prompt attendance. </li><li>Ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours as required. </li><li>Related duties as required. </li></ul> <p>Posting Information</p> <p>Number of Vacancies 1 Position End Date (if temporary) Job Open Date 02/14/2025 Job Close Date Open Until Filled Yes Special Instructions to Applicants Working Days Monday - Friday Working Hours 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Job Location Main Campus Full-time or Part-Time Full Time Regular or Temporary Regular</p>
