<p>Summary: Goldey-Beacom College is accepting applications for a full-time Head Softball Coach/Student-Athlete Development Specialist. The holder of this position will oversee all aspects of the Goldey-Beacom College Softball Program, including but not limited to, recruiting, training, game day coaching, budget, equipment, travel, and scheduling, and will be responsible for the department's student-athlete development. This position holder will be required to regularly exercise independent judgment and discretion.</p> <p>Department: Athletics</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Bachelor's Degree in a relevant area of study preferred, with a minimum of four years' experience working with intercollegiate athletics.</p> <p>Knowledge/Skills/Ability:</p> <p>Candidate must be a self-motivated worker who can work with minimal supervision. The candidate must be able to work with a diverse group of people and interact with other departments.</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Coach the Softball team. </li><li>Recruit of retainable student-athletes under CACC, NCAA, and college regulations. </li><li>Maintain a relationship with the Financial Aid/Advisement Office to keep a constant focus on players' eligibility, and thus fulfill CACC, NCAA, and College regulations. </li><li>Maintain a relationship with the Admissions Department to assure proper attention to potential student-athletes, and to facilitate their recruitment under CACC, NCAA, and College guidelines. </li><li>Purchase the necessary equipment for the team; gain prior approval for all purchases. </li><li>Be aware of the softball budget and stay within its limitations (travel, meals, uniforms, equipment, scholarships, etc.). </li><li>Oversee team travel including cleanliness of transportation vehicles and meal receipts. </li><li>Assist with the scheduling of contests. </li><li>Arrange lodging for all overnight team trips. </li><li>Operate summer softball camps for the benefit of the program. </li><li>Maintain and provide proof of current CPR and First Aid certifications. </li><li>Maintain valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record as this position requires frequent driving. </li><li>Comply with all NCAA or conference rules. Violation of NCAA or conference rules is prohibited and may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment. </li><li>Administer periodic Life Skills development seminars for all student-athletes. </li><li>Assist the Associate Athletic Director for Academic Affairs with the implementation of the GBC Athletics Academic Support Program. </li><li>Organize, document, and assist in the advertisement of community service activity of all varsity programs. </li></ul> <p>Reports To: Director of Athletics</p> <p>Position Category: Staff - Full-Time</p> <p>Months per Year: 12</p> <p>Hours per Week: 37.5</p> <p>FLSA: Exempt</p> <p>Salary Range: $55,000-$60,000</p> <p>Benefits: Goldey-Beacom College offers an excellent benefits package that includes:</p> <ul> <li>Medical, Dental, & Vision </li><li>Retirement Plan (403b) in which College contributes 5.5% </li><li>Life & Disability Insurances </li><li>Education benefits for employees, spouses and dependents </li><li>Generous PTO </li><li>Paid Holidays, Paid two-week winter break and ½ day Fridays during the summer </li><li>Free weekly meals in dining hall during the fall and spring semesters. </li></ul> <p>Application Instructions:</p> <p>Click here to apply!
