<p>Location: Oak Ridge, TN</p> <p>Job Title: Manager Technical Assurance 16563</p> <p>Career Level: Manager</p> <p>Organization: Y-12 Technical Assurance (51433079)</p> <p>Job Specialty: Nuclear/High Hazard Operations</p> <p>What You'll Do</p> <ul> <li>Serves as resource to the Senior Director of Technical Assurance </li><li>Leads a newly formed organization within Technical Assurance that is responsible for facilitating startups </li><li>Maintains visible leadership presence in production areas to better guide developmental efforts associated with performance improvement and personnel level of knowledge </li><li>Coordinates the efforts of direct and staff augmentation personnel </li><li>Provides specific guidance and leadership across all operating elements of Operations, addressing issues that are cross-cutting and require division or company level solutions </li><li>Significantly impacts the organization's ability to evolve, meet customer requirements, gain efficiency, and operate safely </li><li>Represents Technical Assurance in interactions with all levels of technical, managerial, and executive-level customers </li><li>Assists in developing strategic direction; assesses and evaluates organizational performance; leads evaluation of performance issues and development of related action plans and training content; leads improvement initiatives; implements specific technical initiatives; and/or communicates directions, strategies, and plans across the Division </li><li>Applies appropriate and effective tools for project management to ensure timely, effective, and efficient execution of Division-level initiatives </li><li>Represents Technical Assurance on special project teams in a diversity of subject areas; establishes and leads multi-discipline teams; obtains buy-in on execution plans and schedules from organizations involved in work; motivates team members with a clear understanding of the strategic importance of assigned work </li><li>Employs special tools and techniques as appropriate, i.e. project management, operational analysis, employee development, nuclear criticality safety, etc. </li><li>Communicates and coordinates information sharing across the organization and the DOE complex </li></ul> <p>What You Can Expect</p> <ul> <li>Meaningful work and unique opportunities to support missions vital to national and global security </li><li>Top-notch, dedicated colleagues </li><li>Generous pay and benefits with a stable organization </li><li>Career advancement and professional development programs </li><li>Work-life balance fostered through flexible work options and wellness initiatives </li></ul> <p>Minimum Job Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree: Minimum 7 years of relevant experience </li><li>In addition, the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A (i.e., Baccalaureate in engineering or related scientific major and 4 years nuclear experience; or a DOE O 426.2A alternative). DOE 426.2A experience requirements can be satisfied following employment. In the interim, newly hired personnel will not be assigned duties that could impact the safety basis of nuclear facilities. (Ref. DOE O 426.2A) </li><li>Participation in the Human Reliability Program </li></ul> <p>Preferred Job Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Minimum 3 years of relevant supervisory/ management experience is required </li><li>Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word and PowerPoint </li><li>Knowledgeable of Y-12 business and operations support, resources, practices, processes, and policies needed to resolve issues and accomplish work is preferred </li><li>Must be able to apply a comprehensive and advanced knowledge to the completion of complex assignments in the field of specialization, and apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field </li><li>Must be able to contribute to the development of new principles and concepts </li><li>Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to interface with all levels of personnel and management within Y-12 and NNSA </li><li>Must be able to work independently within a diverse organization </li><li>Requires effective oral and written communication skills, strong leadership skills, and ability to facilitate accomplishment of objectives across organization boundaries </li><li>Requires good presentation skills </li><li>Must have planning and scheduling capabilities </li><li>Requires the ability to prioritize and manage competing and multiple priorities, maintain flexibility and adapt to change </li></ul> <p>Why Y-12?</p> <p>You get #morethanajob. Successful candidates hired into a higher career level than the minimum in the range must meet the requirements listed in the job leveling charts for the career level into which they are being hired.</p> <p>If a range of Career Levels is posted, i.e., Senior Associate to Senior Specialist, internal applicants already in one of the Career Levels would come across at their current Career Level. Internal applicants currently in a lower level Career Level would move to the lowest posted Career Level.</p> <p>Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.</p> <p>Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10CFR 709. Medical requirements may apply.</p> <p>CNS is a drug-free workplace.
