<p>Pianist/Accompanist for Norwalk Community Chorale.</p> <p>Applicant will need to:</p> <ul> <li>Play for rehearsals each week and be available for special rehearsals as needed throughout the season (ie, Dress Rehearsals) </li><li>Play for Concerts typically on Saturday evenings (December and June); Norwalk Tree Lighting Ceremony (December), and be available for other special events </li><li>Be willing to rehearse with soloist(s) at the end of regularly scheduled rehearsals </li><li>Practice the music in preparation for each rehearsal </li><li>Have general flexibility and adaptability </li><li>Have a positive attitude that will help foster a good relationship with the music director and fellow chorale members. </li></ul> <p>SKILL EXPECTATIONS</p> <p>Applicant must be:</p> <ul> <li>Technically competent on the keyboard instrument       </li><li>Knowledgeable of both the accompaniment and choral parts      </li><li>Able to play all combinations of vocal parts together </li><li>Knowledgeable of the performance practices in all the styles relevant to the repertoire being rehearsed/performed </li><li>Able to sight-read </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED:</p> <p>   </p> <ul> <li>Chorale accompanying experience </li><li>Ability to transpose at a medium level </li><li>Ability to create musical transitions and arrangements </li><li>Computer-literate in musical notation software </li><li>Have a good sense of humor. </li></ul> <p>NOTE: This is a part-time position</p> <p>Salary range: $30-35 per hour</p>
