<p>Manager of Clinical Skills Lab and Simulation Center</p> <p>Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities:</p> <p>Under the direction of the Director of Clinical Skills and Simulation Lab, working both independently and collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students the Manager of Clinical Simulation and Skills Laboratory Operations:</p> <ul> <li>supports and supplements the curricular and professional learning needs of students through the application of simulation and other learning technology modalities; </li><li>manages the day-to-day and long-range operations and maintenance of the clinical skills, health assessment, and simulation facilities and inventories; </li><li>supports the use of these facilities by those faculty who develop and conduct experiential and other learning activities; </li><li>collaborates with the Director of Clinical Simulation and Skills Laboratory and simulation faculty; </li><li>coordinates and oversees student workers, graduate assistants, standardized patients/participants (SPs), and others who perform job tasks that support operations; implements and administers policies, procedures, protocols, and data reporting to support strategic decision-making and sustainable growth; </li><li>and contributes to the strategic growth of the function and the school to deliver exceptional services to our students. </li></ul> <p>Principle Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Oversees the operations of all clinical skills and simulation laboratory facilities and resources to ensure safety, cleanliness, and organization, promoting safe and collegial practices </li><li>Oversees and coordinates laboratory resources staff to ensure that the proper equipment and supplies are in the proper rooms at the proper times and in working order Establishes, administers, and maintains policies and procedures that dictate the overall operations of the facilities </li><li>Schedules lab facilities, resources, and staff to support curricular and extra-curricular use by faculty and students. </li><li>Advises,consults with,guides,and otherwise assists faculty and supervises students in their use of the laboratory facilities and resources </li><li>Conducts or arranges maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment </li><li>Administers inventory controls, supports Purchasing (including requesting quotes from vendors and suppliers), and facilitates maintaining necessary stocks of consumables support Director of Simulation Center </li></ul> <p>Job Description:</p> <ul> <li>Strategically plans and facilitates utilization, growth, and efficacy of clinical skills and simulation facilities </li><li>Oversees database management, partners with faculty and administration to establish protocols and mechanisms that de?ne, track, and report on utilization and outcomes Collaborates with faculty and Director of Simulation Lab to develop and implement experiential learning activities that utilize the clinical skills and simulation facilities </li><li>Problem-solves to optimize operations and support ongoing quality improvement </li><li>Supports the use of media hardware and software, </li><li>oversees content acquisition, distribution, storage, and extinction,and serves as a resource for all video and audio concerns Establishes, administers, and maintains a back-up data plan </li><li>Advises on the application and integration of educational technologies and technology-enhanced learning events to encourage the performance of particular skills and support the attainment of particular learning objectives </li><li>Assures that users adhere to established operational policies and protocols </li><li>Identify and advocates for resources needed for successful operations </li><li>Supports, researches, evaluates, and recommends innovative and appropriate simulators, applications and other technologies and equipment </li><li>Represents the school on/at university committees, activities, and events, as well as external user groups, conferences, and other professional meetings </li><li>Promotes both internally and externally the facilities, capabilities, value, and accomplishments </li><li>Sustains awareness of trends in simulation through employer-provided/supported membership in and attendance of conferences and other professional meeting, journal subscriptions, and networking </li><li>Participates in inter-professional learning activities that encourage and develop skills that support patient-centered, team-delivered, and interdisciplinary care </li><li>Assists the Director of the Simulation Lab with: periodic reporting to senior administration, equipment purchasing and budgeting attainment and maintenance of accreditation and of individual and facility simulation certifications, hiring, orienting, and training of personnel, technicians, and educators other special projects, initiatives, related duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Education, Training:</p> <p>Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Education, Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or Information Technology required; Masters degree preferred Current clinical state license or certification preferred</p> <p>Expected to earn within 3 years of hire, then maintain, a CHSOS, CHSE, CHSE-A, or comparable certi?cation; CHSOS, already acquired, preferred</p> <p>Experience, Skills, Knowledge:</p> <p>Knowledge of medical terminology required; of medical equipment and supplies preferred</p> <p>Experience in clinical care required Experience in health professions higher education or in operations or project management required, including purchasing, accounts payable, reconciliation, budgets, scheduling, coordination, record keeping, and reporting</p> <p>Experience with simulation technologies, such as anatomic models, task trainers, full-body patient simulators required; screen-based, and virtual reality preferred</p> <p>Experience with simulation hardware and software required; Design, development, and dissemination of technology-based learning products and interventions preferred Participation and leadership in professional associations preferred</p> <p>Qualities:</p> <p>Productive and resourceful, independently and as a team member Interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships across all organizational levels among faculty, students, staff, administration, vendors, contractors and consultants</p> <p>Effective verbal and written communication with, among, and between technical, non-technical, clinical, non-clinical, and administrative colleagues and others Service oriented, collaborative, curious, ?exible, adaptable, reliable, professional, quality-driven, internally motivated, self-initiator, timely, meticulous, and discreet Able to adjust schedule as activities dictate</p> <p>LIU is an equal opportunity employer.
