<p>Job Summary</p> <ol> <li> <p>Safe operation of tractor pulling flatbed trailer on company property especially backing up truck in order to move truck from department to department.</p> </li><li> <p>Formulate a workable loading plan which will allow the truck to be loaded considering the following variables:</p> </li></ol> <p>a. Material size</p> <p>b. Material shape</p> <p>c. Material weight</p> <p>d. Driver Stop/Unloading Sequence</p> <p>e. DOT Regulations</p> <ol start="3"> <li>Accurately checks to ensure both proper material and proper quantities of material is sent to the truck by warehouse personnel. This is done through the proper use of: </li></ol> <p>a. Tape Measures</p> <p>b. Calipers</p> <p>c. Yard Scales</p> <p>d. Verification of item descriptions on work copies</p> <ol start="4"> <li> <p>Loaders must be able to climb up and down from tractors and onto and off of trailers.</p> </li><li> <p>Must be able to lift 50 pounds routinely.</p> </li><li> <p>Possess ability to frequently stand, bend, push, squat, and use pry bar in order to position material correctly on trailer.</p> </li></ol> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <p>Stand or Sit(Stationary position), Walk(Move, Traverse), Use hand/fingers to handle or feel (Operate, Activate, Use, Prepare, Inspect, Place, Detect, Position), Climb (stairs/ladders) or balance (Ascend/Descend, Work atop, Traverse), Stoop, kneel, crouch, or Crawl(Position self(to), Move), Talk/hear(Communicate, Detect, Converse with, Discern, Convey, Express oneself, Exchange information), See (Detect, Determine, Perceive, Identify, Recognize, Judge, Observe, Inspect, Estimate, Assess), Pushing or Pulling, Reaching, Repetitive Motion</p> <p>Function in the Job</p> <p>Medium/Heavy work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.</p> <p>Job Function</p> <ol> <li> <p>Maintains housekeeping.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitors work area.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrates ability and accepts responsibility to perform other duties assigned by the foreman as necessary to complete the shift.</p> </li></ol> <p>Required Skills</p> <p>30% Bending, stooping, squatting: Unhook chains; guide and position material; count, check and measure material.</p> <p>20% Sitting down to drive tractor trailer in warehouse and on company property.</p> <p>15% Walking on uneven surface while trailer is being loaded.</p> <p>10% Climbing into and out of truck cab (3 steps) and up and down from flatbed trailer (5-7 step ladder) approximately 25-30 times per shift.</p> <p>10% Pushing / pulling material weighing 50 pounds.</p> <p>5% Lifting to 50 pounds</p> <p>2% Walking on flat surface.</p> <p>Other Requirements</p> <p>Must wear required personal protective equipment</p>
