<p>The Chairperson of the Evaluation Team (CET) is under the direction of the Director of Pupil Personnel Services and the building Principal. The CET will be responsible for implementing and managing effective, compliant, and cost-effective special education services for students. A successful candidate should have strong oral and written communication skills and be able to work as part of a team. Three years of experience, a Master's Degree or higher, and certification as a Special Education Administrator are preferred.</p> <p>The CET is a building Administrator, in charge of the supervision and evaluation of faculty and staff and is required to complete all necessary evaluations in accordance with the timeline agreed to through the Collective Bargaining Agreements.</p> <p>The CET is responsible for the following:</p> <ul> <li>Manage special education eligibility process, including chairing team meetings (annual, initial, reevaluation and progress update) </li><li>Ensure IEPs meet all regulatory and district standards, are written to reflect best practice, and reflect high quality programming and are implemented with integrity </li><li>Work with building-based teams to develop and implement efficient and effective service delivery models reflecting best practice </li><li>Manage complex and challenging cases by maintaining effective parent, staff, advocate, and outside evaluator contact </li><li>Identify and request authorization from the Director for any services not provided by Winthrop Public Schools </li><li>Collaborate with the Principal to advance a Response to Intervention program and a co-teaching model in the school </li><li>Participate in and contribute to student support team meetings </li><li>Plan for and contribute to effective transitions for students and their families </li><li>Work with other CETs and the director to ensure consistency, cohesion, and coordination of practices across the district </li><li>Provide teachers with consultation regarding program modifications, behavior contracts, FBAs, and co-teaching. and cooperative learning </li><li>Consult with special education teachers and regular education teachers regarding special education and at risk students </li><li>Observe and monitor the progress of students in various out-of-district placements </li><li>Coordinate programs and placement </li><li>Establish special education teachers' and ESPs' schedules and caseloads </li><li>Schedule all special education students into mainstream, co-taught classes, and special education classes </li><li>Coordinate and confer with all outside agencies working with students (DCF, DMH, DMR, counseling agencies, hospitals, courts, and other service provision agencies) </li><li>Coordinate MCAS groups and schedule </li><li>Confer with other administration regularly (regarding student/staff issues, program planning, and development, program evaluation) </li><li>Inform and meet with staff regularly in regards to policy change, timelines, deadlines, compliance, and training </li><li>Attend trainings and conferences as required </li><li>Work closely and collaboratively with staff, parents, and advocates regarding service delivery and program options </li><li>Adjust teacher, ESP, and student schedules as needed </li><li>Arrange coverage for initial meetings </li><li>Maintain updated student data for the administration staff and use </li><li>Complete various indicators from DESE </li></ul>
