We are now accepting applications for a Director of Nursing (RN) to lead our team to achieve successful clinical outcomes by mentoring our next generation of nurses and CNAs in their career path.</p> <p>TEXT: DON MILLS to (833) 381-4565 to Apply</p> <p>#NSHCDON</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <p>Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <p>Clinical Quality & Resident Care</p> <ul> <li>Provides overall leadership and oversight of the nursing department to ensure high-quality resident care </li><li>Accountable for clinical outcomes, including prevention and management of falls, pressure injuries, infections, and hospital readmissions </li><li>Ensures physicians and clinical providers conduct visits as required and that care is delivered in accordance with resident needs </li><li>Conducts regular rounds to monitor resident care, staff performance, and overall environment of care </li><li>Oversees documentation practices to ensure accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance of resident records </li><li>May provide direct care as needed </li></ul> <p>Regulatory Compliance & Survey Readiness</p> <ul> <li>Maintains continuous survey readiness and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations </li><li>Leads survey preparation, participates in surveys, and oversees implementation of plans of correction </li><li>Oversees incident reporting, investigations, and follow-up actions in accordance with regulatory requirements </li><li>Ensures compliance with all organizational policies, procedures, and the compliance program </li></ul> <p>Quality Improvement & Infection Control</p> <ul> <li>Leads QAPI and performance improvement initiatives for the nursing department utilizing data, metrics, and trends to drive decision-making and improve outcomes </li><li>Oversees infection prevention and control programs to ensure compliance and minimize risk. May be the center Infection Preventionist. </li></ul> <p>Workforce Leadership & Development</p> <ul> <li>Develops, leads, and retains a high-performing nursing team through effective hiring, coaching, and performance management </li><li>Oversees staffing and scheduling to ensure appropriate coverage while managing labor costs, overtime, and agency utilization </li><li>Ensures orientation, onboarding, ongoing training, and competency development of nursing personnel </li><li>Ensures maintenance of licensure and certification requirements for all nursing personnel, including CPR certification for all licensed nursing personnel </li><li>Ensures fair and consistent application of disciplinary processes and performance evaluations </li></ul> <p>Operations & Financial Management</p> <ul> <li>Ensures necessary equipment, supplies, and staffing levels are available to support quality care delivery </li><li>Participates in budget development for the nursing department, medical, nursing and central supplies. </li><li>Manages nursing department operations within budget, including labor and supply expenses </li></ul> <p>Leadership, Collaboration & Culture</p> <ul> <li>Partners with the Executive Director and interdisciplinary team to drive clinical, operational, and financial performance </li><li>Acts in an administrative capacity in the absence of the Executive Director </li><li>Collaborates with internal and external partners to improve quality of care and operational outcomes </li><li>Promotes a culture of accountability, professionalism, safety, and resident-centered care </li><li>Ensures high standards of customer service for residents, families, and staff </li><li>Treats residents, families, visitors, and staff with courtesy and respect </li></ul> <p>Professional Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Represents the organization in professional, community, and marketing activities as appropriate </li><li>Attends and participates in required meetings, committees, training, and organizational initiatives </li><li>May provide direct nursing care as needed and serve in an administrative capacity in the absence of the Executive Director </li></ul> <p>Safety</p> <ul> <li>Knows and follows North Shore Health rules </li><li>Follows North Shore Health dress and hygiene policies </li><li>Demonstrates proper use of equipment </li><li>Reports equipment needs or repairs </li><li>Follows North Shore Health smoking policies </li><li>Reports and documents any incidents or accidents of residents, staff or visitors to the appropriate North Shore Health Support Center personnel </li><li>Reports all hazardous conditions/equipment to Executive Director </li><li>Uses required protective equipment </li><li>Follows infection control standards, policies and procedures </li></ul> <p>Resident Rights</p> <ul> <li>Knows Resident Rights </li><li>Helps the residents/patients exercise and/or protect their rights </li><li>Maintains confidentiality of resident/patient and employee information </li></ul> <p>HIPAA</p> <ul> <li>Follows and adheres to North Shore Health's policies and procedures implementing HIPAA requirements for the privacy and security of protected health information </li><li>Uses and/or discloses only minimum amount of Protected Health Information necessary to complete assigned tasks </li><li>Reports all suspected violations of the company's HIPAA policies or procedures to North Shore Health's Chief Compliance Officer. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment/Physical Requirements</p> <p>The responsibilities of this position may involve significant travel and physical activities including standing, occasional lifting (up to 50 pounds unassisted), bending, stooping, pushing, pulling and twisting. Lifting and/or transferring some residents will require use of a lifting device and/or assistance from other staff.</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Registered Nurse (RN) with active, unrestricted license in the state </li><li>Graduate of an accredited nursing program </li><li>Strong knowledge of long-term care regulations and clinical practices </li><li>Current CPR certification </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Prior experience as a Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing </li><li>Demonstrated experience with survey readiness and regulatory compliance </li><li>Experience managing staffing, budgets, and operational performance </li></ul> <p>Leadership Competencies</p> <ul> <li>Strategic thinking and decision-making </li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills </li><li>Ability to lead through change and manage competing priorities </li><li>High level of integrity, accountability, and professionalism </li><li>Ability to analyze data and drive performance improvement </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions & Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Frequent walking, standing, and movement throughout the facility </li><li>Occasional lifting, bending, and physical activity as needed </li><li>Exposure to clinical environments, including infectious materials </li><li>On-call responsibility and availability for evenings, weekends, and emergencies </li></ul> <p>Additional Expectations</p> <ul> <li>Maintains confidentiality and complies with all data privacy and security requirements </li><li>Adheres to all organizational policies, procedures, and compliance standards </li><li>Promotes resident rights, dignity, and quality of life </li><li>Completes all required training and competencies </li></ul>
