<p>This position is part of the WAPA-RMR-Rocky Mountain Region. As a Safety and Occupational Health Manager, you will manage the Federal Employee Safety and Occupational Health (FESOH) program for the Rocky Mountain Region (RMR) of the Western Area Power Administration (WAPA). This involves ensuring compliance with federal, state, and Department of Energy (DOE) regulations and industry standards.</p> <p>As a Safety and Occupational Health Manager, you will:</p> <ul> <li>Oversee and manage the regional Federal Employee Safety and Occupational Health (FESOH) Program, ensuring its comprehensive implementation across diverse activities and multi-state locations. </li><li>Provide expert guidance and advice to regional senior management, line managers, and supervisors on all safety and occupational health matters, focusing on hazard mitigation in power system operations. </li><li>Develop and propose changes to operating policies and procedures to meet program objectives and ensure compliance with safety standards, particularly concerning high-voltage transmission systems. </li><li>Conduct risk assessments of job tasks and processes to identify potential hazards, evaluate their severity, and determine prevention strategies. </li><li>Ensure regional compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements, federal, state, and Department of Energy (DOE) regulations, and relevant industry consensus standards. </li><li>Lead or participate in incident investigations for OSHA-reportable accidents and act as a subject matter expert in high-voltage electrical safety work practices. </li></ul>
