Job #24928-9</p> <p>5/5/2025</p> <p>SENIOR FINANCIAL OFFICER, Department of Materials Science and Engineering (DMSE), will be responsible for the management of all sponsored research projects and non-sponsored funds for the Department of Materials Science and Engineering including both pre and post research administration, and the overall management of funding from a wide variety of federal, industrial, and foundation sponsors with an all-funds volume of $40M in expenditures; supervise, mentor and recruit seven finance staff members, providing overall guidance on financial matters, conducting performance evaluations, and promoting professional development of staff; report to the Director of Administration and Finance and counsel them on overall sponsored and non-sponsored administration activities; collaborate to develop and implement DMSE's financial and organizational strategies; serve as a resource for support staff and faculty in DMSE; work with the Office of Research Administration Services, Office of the Vice President for Finance, and various central and departmental staff; understand the department's strategic and operational objectives; and understand principles and theories of finance administration with broad understanding of other related disciplines.</p>
