Reviews, analyzes and documents all outpatient denials received by payers. Follows up with insurance companies, physicians, various hospital departments (i.e. medical records, financial counseling, healthcare review, managed care, etc.) to assure the recovery of denied revenue. Conducts statistical analysis for all denials. Assists Supervisor and Manager, Accounts Receivable with the creation of payer report card data to be used for contract negotiations.</p> <p>Formal Education Required:</p> <ul> <li>Associate s degree in business, accounting, or closely related field or equivalent PAS/IT&S work experience </li><li>Additional experience may be substituted on a year for year basis for the education requirement </li></ul> <p>Experience and Training Required:</p> <ul> <li>Five (5) or more years experience in healthcare patient accounting or health insurance industry </li></ul> <p>Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of basic accounting procedures, computers and other equipment used in the PFS area </li><li>Diverse knowledge and experience in utilizing standardized PC software </li><li>Population Specific Competency: ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity </li></ul> <p>Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled</p> <p>$23.75/hr - $28.49/hr</p> <p>The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay. We believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members when determining offers. Please keep in mind that the range that is listed is the full base salary range.
