<p>The Holyoke Visiting Nurses Association, Inc. is looking to hire a Registered Nurse working full-time for home care & hospice experience.</p> <p>40 hours weekly - Monday-Friday ( with weekend rotation)</p> <ul> <li>Practice proper infection control and use standard precautions. </li><li>Perform minimal light housekeeping tasks per the instructions on the HCA care plan if time allows. </li><li>Assist or provide personal hygiene (sponge bath, shower or tub bath, bed bath, and mouth care). </li><li>Assist clients with dressing. </li><li>Remind clients to take medication(s). </li><li>Plan and prepare or assist in preparing nutritious meals or prescribed diets. </li><li>Assist the patient in performing prescribed physical therapy, speech therapy and occupational therapy exercises as instructed by the appropriate professional. </li><li>Assist in the use, care and cleaning of prescribed medical equipment (hospital bed, cane, walker, quad cane, etc.). </li><li>Use a Hoyer lift or similar equipment to transfer patients to and from the bed, toilet, chair, tub, etc. </li><li>Manually assist disabled or handicapped patients with transfers. </li><li>Observe and accurately report all changes in the patient's physical, emotional or social condition on a timely basis. </li><li>Identify and report unsafe and/or potentially unsafe practice in patient care to supervisors and to nurses or therapists. </li><li>Maintain confidentiality during and after working hours.
