<p>Phlebotomist</p> <p>Pay Rate: $15.00-$20.00</p> <p>Shift: Evening 12-8:30pm</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>Join our dynamic hospital team as a Phlebotomist working the evening shift from 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM. In this role, you will be responsible for obtaining blood specimens and collecting non-blood specimens such as urine, sputum, and throat swabs for laboratory testing. You will also perform screening tests, report results, and process specimens to prepare them for laboratory testing and reference laboratory dispatch.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Obtain blood specimens through venipuncture and other techniques. </li><li>Collect non-blood specimens such as urine, sputum, and throat swabs. </li><li>Perform and report screening tests. </li><li>Process specimens to prepare them for laboratory testing. </li><li>Prepare specimens for dispatch to reference laboratories. </li><li>Assist in emergency situations such as codes and rapids. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Experience in phlebotomy, blood draw, and venipuncture. </li><li>Phlebotomy certification is preferred but not required. </li><li>If uncertified, a minimum of 6 months of experience or relevant clinical training is required. </li><li>Newly certified individuals must have clinical rotations or hospital experience. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Ability to handle an average of 35 specimen collections during the evening shift. </li><li>Experience with adult patients, as pediatric patients are rare. </li><li>Experience in a busy hospital lab setting is beneficial. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>Work in a busy hospital lab setting with an evening shift schedule from 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM. The role includes rotating weekends with one consistent weekday off each week. The hospital features the only burn unit in the area and predominantly serves adult patients.
