If you're ready to make an impact and join a community where you can grow, belong, and thrive, we encourage you to apply today and help shape the future of Westerra!</p> <p>What is the role?</p> <p>The Chief Information Officer (CIO) will report directly to the interim President & CEO and will be responsible for the strategic direction, planning, implementation, and management of technology initiatives at Westerra Credit Union. This position is a dynamic and collaborative senior leadership role, focused on establishing and executing strategies that will have a mid- to long-term impact (3-5 years) on business outcomes, aligning with the organization's objectives.</p> <p>The CIO's responsibilities encompass all aspects of IT within the organization, including the daily operation of the Credit Union's information systems. The team includes technology operations, information security, application development, business intelligence, digital experience and software engineering.</p> <p>What will be expected of me?</p> <ul> <li> <p>Lead the development of the IT and digital business strategy and technical roadmap and ensure its integration with the enterprise strategic planning process and the resulting business strategy and plans. Provide a single coordination point and executive oversight for all digital initiatives and transformation projects.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide visionary thought leadership to the senior leadership team to support the development and execution of short and long-term strategic goals, future growth opportunities, best practices, and other organizational objectives related to IT and the Digital Experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop mid-to-long-term plans for optimizing the organization and the talent required to execute strategies in the job area and direct short- and long-term staffing needs and development of overall functional areas.</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for periodic reporting on strategic plans and results to the Board of Directors.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee the business intelligence function to provide the organization with leading-edge data architecture and visualization capabilities.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee the applications and systems analyst function, which supports the connection of new project work with our established core systems and infrastructure.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee the software development team focused on improving Westerra's digital assets and the user experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee the development of the IT service strategy and technical roadmap and ensure its integration with the enterprise strategic plan.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee the development or procurement of application software used by the Credit Union business units.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee the information security program throughout the organization to ensure systems are secure and available, assuring that IT Security policies are enforced and followed.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee the maintenance of a computer system contingency and recovery plan, including recovery exercises, to ensure business continuity in case of a disaster.</p> </li><li> <p>Lead the IT Infrastructure function, ensuring a safe and secure operating environment while remaining competitive.</p> </li><li> <p>Develops and controls the annual operating expenditure (OPEX) and capital expenditure (capex) budgets for IT to ensure that they are consistent with the overall strategic objectives of IT and the enterprise and within the plan.</p> </li><li> <p>Operates a formal governance mechanism to ensure services delivered support organizational long and short-term goals and objectives.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains effective and productive working relationships with the Officer Leadership Team, managers, and staff in all areas and supports vendors and business partners.</p> </li><li> <p>Adopt new techniques and practices, such as Agile and cloud computing, to complement the change in focus as the organization matures.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in defining and developing a culture of excellence and innovative thinking.</p> </li><li> <p>Hire, coach, and review team members; ensure that every team member understands their roles, goals, and career paths; continually review needs for skills development.</p> </li><li> <p>Other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ul> <p>Will I have Direct Reports? Yes</p> <p>What am I bringing?</p> <p>Experience/Education:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.</p> </li><li> <p>10-15 years of progressive IT experience, including previous experience in an executive role.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, applications, and emerging technologies relevant to the financial industry.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of regulatory requirements applicable to financial institutions.</p> </li></ul> <p>Skills and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic IT plans that drive business value, operational efficiency and member engagement.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to use data to drive informed decision making</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus across the organization.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to support and promote Westerra's Mission, Purpose and Vision</p> </li></ul> <p>What is the work environment like, and are there physical requirements for this role?</p> <ul> <li>Hybrid / Office environment: Typically, a dispersed, flexible team environment both on Westerra campus and remote. Must reside in Colorado, with designated in-office days (~2x/week) </li></ul> <p>Salary: in addition to the starting annual rate of $223,000.00 - $301,000.00, this role is also eligible for a Short Term Incentive up to 35% and Westerra's self-funding reward plan.
