<p>REQUIRED MATERIALS:</p> <ul> <li>Current Curriculum Vitae/Resume w/ clear evidence of experience teaching at the graduate level </li><li>Cover Letter </li></ul> <p>Candidates who submit their application with the required materials by January 11th, 2026, will be given priority consideration.</p> <p>POSITION SUMMARY:</p> <p>Responsible for academic, service, and scholarship matters consistent with the mission and philosophy of the academic program. Core faculty members participate in university governance and assist the program director to plan, coordinate, facilitate, administer, and monitor all activities related to the entry-level OTD program.</p> <p>This is a remote, part-time (20 hrs per week) position that will be expected to come to RMU's campus in Provo, UT at least 6 times per year (two times per semester).</p> <p>In addition, this position is eligible to participate in RMU's 401(k) retirement plan and receives 17 paid holidays annually, 3 paid floating holidays annually.</p> <p>REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS</p> <p>Position Reports to the Director of Occupational Therapy (OTD) Program</p> <p>Positions Supervised: Teaching assistants and laboratory assistants</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ol> <li>Communication </li></ol> <ul> <li>Maintain communication with administration, faculty, students and community regarding the development and implementation of university and OTD program policies. </li><li>Participate in regularly scheduled MOT program meetings and other University events. </li></ul> <ol start="2"> <li>Student Instruction and Curriculum Management </li></ol> <ul> <li>Responsible for the OTD program's curriculum design, student instruction, evaluation and progression, clinical education, as well as student admissions and advisement. </li><li>Preparation of class materials and teaching of classes as scheduled. </li></ul> <ol start="3"> <li>Governance </li></ol> <ul> <li>Initiate, adopt, evaluate, and uphold the University and OTD the program's mission, goals and assessment of program outcomes. </li><li>Advancement of the academic activities and policies of the OTD program and University. </li><li>Provision of opportunity for students and peers to evaluate teaching effectiveness. </li><li>Evaluation and recommendation of faculty for promotion. </li></ul> <ol start="4"> <li>Leadership </li></ol> <ul> <li>Serve on OTD program and University committees appropriate to their rank and experience. </li><li>Provision of time for academic advisement and guidance of students. </li><li>Participate in professional and community activities to bring education, service, and research together for the improvement of healthcare delivery. </li><li>Accept opportunities for membership on standing and ad-hoc committees of the OTD program and University as elected or appointed as workload allows. </li></ul> <ol start="5"> <li>Scholarship </li></ol> <ul> <li>Actively involved in scholarly activities and/or clinical <p>WORKING REQUIREMENTS/CONDITIONS</p> <p>Education/Certification:</p> <p>Post-Professional Clinical Doctorate (Minimum) or Academic (w/ dissertation) Doctoral Degree (Preferred)</p> <p>Required Knowledge:</p> <p>Knowledge of legislative, regulatory, legal, and practice issues affecting contemporary occupational therapy education, students, and the profession of?occupational therapy.</p> <p>Current knowledge and skill in evidence-based practice and teaching skills.</p> <p>Knowledge of educational, management, and adult learning theory and principles with hybrid (online & face to face) instructional delivery.</p> <p>Evidence of knowledge and clinical experience with foundational occupational therapy concepts and practice, and one of the following, 1) adult physical or neurological rehabilitation, or 2) adult mental health evaluation and intervention.</p> <p>Experience Required:</p> <p>Active in clinical practice (preferred).</p> <p>Active in professional activities at local, state, and/or national levels (required).</p> <p>Minimum of 3 years of academic teaching and/or clinical coordination (required).</p> <p>Prior teaching experiences in an occupational therapy academic programs and/ administrative experience in academic governance and/or clinical practice (required)</p> <p>Design and conduct?independent and/or collaborative research (preferred)</p> <p>Skills/Abilities:</p> <p>Able to work?with students, Faculty/Staff with special needs based?on the Americans with?Disabilities Act (ADA).</p> <p>Ability to participate in all aspects of peer review and shared governance.</p> <p>Ability to meet faculty requirements as stated in the current Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education Standards.</p> <p>Strong leadership, communication, organization, interpersonal, problem-solving, and counseling skills (preferred).</p> <p>Ability to initiate, administer, assess, and document areas related to occupational therapy education programs (preferred).</p> <p>Ability to work independently and?coordinate work with colleagues and peers (preferred).</p> <p>Ability to travel to campus a minimum of 15 days per semester (six times per year).</p> <p>PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION</p> <p>Finger dexterity:</p> <p>Using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, operate machinery</p> <p>Physical Strength:</p> <p>Sedentary work.
