If you're looking for a career where you can truly make a difference, we hope you will consider joining our team.</p> <p>Program Description:</p> <p>Under general supervision of a Director, the Casework Supervisor is responsible for providing professional and administrative guidance to a small unit of up to 4 case planners in providing comprehensive casework and building partnerships with each family of the children in the care of Little Flower. The Casework Supervisor oversees the development of action plans with each Case Planner to address all relevant concerns of the families that lead to the foster care placement of their children. The action plans are developed to create meaningful change so permanent solutions for the children and their families can be achieved. The Casework Supervisor assigns and reviews cases; trains case planners; interprets rules and regulations and assists in resolving casework problems. Performs all relevant work as assigned.</p> <p>Principle Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Supervises a unit at a maximum of 4 case planners and conducts individual and group conferences with casework staff to complete assignments and to guide, train, and develop casework skills. </li><li>Evaluates staff performance, reviews case records, and maintains appropriate records and controls. </li><li>Conduct structured supervision consistently around both issues of compliance and permanency timelines to give workers feedback, provide motivation, insight, and constructive criticism. </li><li>Ability to step into difficult or hostile situations, model behaviors to handle difficult situations, and provide mediation. </li><li>Resolves workers' concerns and assist struggling workers by creating corrective action plans or other developmental plans when necessary for changes to occur. </li><li>Provide overall structure and organization to unit to develop the skill set of staff, so they can create positive solutions for families. </li><li>Act as an effective and professional liaison between all internal staff and external organizations. </li><li>Ensure coordination of all specialists' contacts into the case plan and foster good teamwork among case planners and specialists of other staff with whom they share a case. </li><li>In absence of a caseworker, supervisor is ultimately responsible for covering the caseload until a replacement is identified. </li><li>May be required to cover for another casework supervisor in the event of their absence. </li><li>Ensure compliance with all rules and regulations of the agency, and as well as those of all local, state, federal, and other governing bodies. </li><li>Maintain a time oriented, deadline focused approach to documentation for your unit, including progress notes, psychosocials, and FASP's. </li><li>Aides staff to locate and engage extended support networks for families served by unit. </li><li>Create a clear set of job expectations for all staff within the unit and hold staff accountable for those expectations through weekly supervision of each staff member. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Thorough knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques and of their application within the assigned program. </li><li>Good knowledge of applicable to the oversight agency's rules and regulations relating to the program. </li><li>Good knowledge of Little Flower's rules, regulations, and procedures relating to the program. </li><li>Ability to plan, assign, and supervise the activities of a casework unit in a manner conducive to full performance and high morale. </li><li>Ability to analyze and evaluate case records and to assist subordinates to reach sound decisions based on pertinent regulations and information. </li><li>Ability to prepare clear, accurate, and comprehensive reports of unit activities. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Requirements:</p> <p>Graduation from an accredited university with a Master's Degree in Social Work (or related field) and four years of professional experience in the program to which he or she is to be assigned.</p> <p>Travel Requirements:</p> <p>This position is located in Brooklyn, NY but may be required to travel to other locations.
