<p>Apply Now</p> <p>JOB OVERVIEW: The purpose of this position is to direct, evaluate and manage the daily park operations of the St. Charles County Parks and Recreation Maintenance Division and supervise field supervisory staff. The work is done under the direct supervision of the Superintendent of Parks.</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Plans, organizes, and directs onsite maintenance needs of park grounds, buildings and facilities within the county park system. </li><li>Assign maintenance tasks to Park Supervisors and ensures work is completed in a timely manner and completed in accordance with high maintenance standards of the Park Department. </li><li>Supervises training of park maintenance staff and ensures that staff are up to date and compliant with required licensing and certifications. </li><li>Supervise subordinates with respect to accountability for performance and behavior. </li><li>May participate in work required to effectively operate and maintain a safe, clean and attractive park system. </li><li>Responsible for keeping project task and work schedules up to date for all parks and tracking project progress. </li><li>Coordinates efforts and directs staff required to complete major projects and special events by determining resource requirements and ensuring availability of staff, equipment, materials, and other special needs are met. </li><li>Work may include but is not limited to; mowing/trimming of park grounds, restroom and shelter cleaning/maintenance, litter and debris removal, routine maintenance and repair of park facilities and grounds, turf establishment/maintenance, and pesticide application, and special event coordination. </li><li>Assists Park Superintendent in developing and administering Department maintenance operational and capital budgets. </li><li>Researches products and services, creates purchasing and bid documents and sees purchases through. </li><li>Purchases supplies and materials needed to operate park maintenance functions of the Park Department. </li><li>Oversees and coordinates park site resources to achieve department goals for daily operations. </li><li>Assists in the administration of employee hiring of new maintenance employees and directs and supervises new employee training. </li><li>Submits employee performance appraisals. </li><li>Serves as the Acting Superintendent during the absence of the Park Superintendent </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Education</p> </li><li> <p>Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Parks and Recreation, Natural Resource Management, or a closely related field.</p> </li><li> <p>Job Experience</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum of five (5) years directly related work experience including at least three (3) years in a supervisory capacity.</p> </li><li> <p>Certifications</p> </li><li> <p>Must have a satisfactory driving record with a valid Class A Commercial Driver License with air brake certification or have the ability to obtain one within six months of employment.</p> </li></ul> <p>TO APPLY: All applications must be submitted using the APPLY NOW link above.
