To learn more about this type of appointment please see the UW System Administrative Policy 1251: Appointment Terms & Designation of Positions and the Personnel Rules.</p> <p>Job Details:</p> <p>Reporting to the Dean, the Associate Dean for Accreditation and Special Projects works collaboratively with deans, chairs, faculty, and staff to steward accreditation, quality assurance, and strategic initiatives that advance the College's mission and values. The Associate Dean leads AACSB accreditation activities and supports initiatives related to the College's membership in EFMD Global, using EFMD frameworks as complementary tools that reinforce and align with AACSB-driven quality improvement.</p> <p>This role emphasizes inclusive leadership, mentorship, collaboration, and impact, and fosters a supportive, people-centered culture that encourages excellence, innovation, and belonging across the College.</p> <p>Anticipated start date: June 1, 2026</p> <p>Key Job Responsibilities:</p> <ol> <li>Accreditation & Quality Stewardship </li></ol> <ul> <li> <p>Lead and manage all aspects of AACSB accreditation, including maintenance, continuous improvement, and preparation of BSQ and Continuous Improvement Review reports</p> </li><li> <p>Support the College's engagement with EFMD Global as a complementary quality assurance framework, advancing initiatives that reinforce AACSB standards and institutional priorities</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with faculty and academic leaders to explore EFMD-aligned quality initiatives that complement AACSB accreditation and support continuous improvement, as appropriate</p> </li><li> <p>Act as the primary liaison with AACSB and, as appropriate, support institutional engagement with EFMD Global, facilitating communication, reporting, and quality-focused activities</p> </li></ul> <ol start="2"> <li>Policy Development & Shared Governance </li></ol> <ul> <li> <p>Develop and thoughtfully revise policies and procedures to align with accreditation standards, global best practices, and institutional values</p> </li><li> <p>Partner with faculty, staff, and administrators through transparent, collegial processes that support shared governance and clarity</p> </li></ul> <ol start="3"> <li>Data-Informed Improvement </li></ol> <ul> <li> <p>Oversee the collection, analysis, and storytelling of accreditation-related data, including faculty qualifications, assurance of learning outcomes, and program effectiveness</p> </li><li> <p>Translate data into actionable insights that strengthen program quality, student success, and societal impact</p> </li></ul> <ol start="4"> <li>Faculty & Staff Support and Development </li></ol> <ul> <li> <p>Mentor and support faculty and staff engaged in accreditation, curriculum design, assessment, and continuous improvement work</p> </li><li> <p>Design and facilitate professional development opportunities that build confidence, capacity, and community around quality assurance and innovation</p> </li></ul> <ol start="5"> <li>Engagement & Representation </li></ol> <ul> <li> <p>Build strong, trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including faculty, students, alumni, industry partners, and accrediting bodies</p> </li><li> <p>Represent the College at AACSB-related meetings, conferences, and events, and support participation in EFMD Global activities as appropriate, advocating for the College's commitment to excellence, inclusion, and impact</p> </li></ul> <ol start="6"> <li>Culture of Continuous Improvement </li></ol> <ul> <li> <p>Nurture a culture of care, collaboration, and continuous improvement grounded in accreditation standards and institutional priorities</p> </li><li> <p>Stay attuned to emerging trends in global business education, accreditation, and societal impact, integrating promising practices into College initiatives</p> </li></ul> <ol start="7"> <li>Additional Leadership Contributions </li></ol> <ul> <li> <p>Lead mentoring programs for new faculty and staff, with particular attention to inclusive onboarding and professional growth</p> </li><li> <p>Advance thought leadership and societal impact initiatives that reflect the College's mission and values</p> </li><li> <p>Serve on committees, task forces, and special projects and tasks as assigned</p> </li></ul> <p>This is a full-time, 12-month appointment, typically requiring 40 or more hours per week. Some evening, weekend, and travel commitments may be required during peak periods or for conferences and meetings. This description is not all-inclusive; additional duties may be assigned to meet College and institutional needs.</p> <p>Department:</p> <p>As Wisconsin's largest AACSB-accredited business school, the College of Business and Economics enrolls about 5,000 students and offers a broad portfolio of undergraduate, graduate, certificate, and doctoral programs.
