<p>Participates in a team oriented working environment through all phases of the recruitment and selection process - travel, application review, information sessions and interviewing -and communicates with prospective students, families, counselors, and alumni in an assigned geographic territory. The position includes a full share of travel by various modes of transportation in a variety of locations.</p> <p>Accountabilities</p> <p>The position will have the following responsibilities and accountabilities:</p> <ul> <li>Accountable for actively recruiting students electronically and in person through effective communication consistent with Colgate's mission. </li><li>Accountable to provide outstanding customer service both on campus and in assigned travel regions. </li><li>Accountable for building strong and positive relationships with constituent populations. </li><li>Accountable to effectively review applications with objectivity and be able to demonstrate independent judgment and decision making in the process. </li><li>Accountable for familiarity with and compliance to NCAA recruiting rules. </li><li>Ability to respond to supervisor feedback. </li><li>Accountable for personal growth and advancement of relevant admissions, analytical, process and general professional skills and behaviors. </li><li>Perform other duties and projects as assigned. May include work with Colgate student volunteer programs. </li></ul> <p>Technical Competencies</p> <p>Name Admission Strategy Description</p> <p>Demonstrated ability to contribute to various admission policies and procedures based on learning and experiences.</p> <p>Name Communication Skill Description</p> <p>Demonstrated ability to build relationships and communicate (both electronic and in person) with potential applicants and constituents (families, high school personnel) which may include underrepresented populations, urban populations and first-generation college students. High quality communication skills include dynamic public speaking skills as well as interview skills and strong writing skills. Ability to answer complex and at time difficult questions on the spot in public situations.</p> <p>Name Communication Strategy Description</p> <p>Demonstrated ability to contribute to communication efforts and messaging through direct experiences and learning.</p> <p>Name Customer Service Description</p> <p>Demonstrated ability to connect and build relationships with prospective students and families, high school personnel and other constituents while providing a high level of customer service. Must be able to provide high level customer service even in cases of sensitive and confidential information.</p> <p>Name Data Analysis Description</p> <p>Demonstrated ability to interpret data to make informed decisions regarding travel planning, application review and overall regional management. Must possess basic math and computation abilities.</p> <p>Name Recruiting Description</p> <p>Demonstrated ability to build applicant pools in assigned region(s) and execute travel with a high level of energy and enthusiasm. Demonstrated ability to make decisions with little to no supervision while traveling. Demonstrated ability to use independent judgment in situations that may arise. Demonstrated ability to synthesize data, internalize institutional priorities and institutional resources to develop travel plan in assigned travel regions which may include but not limited to high school visits, college fairs, evening programs.</p> <p>Name Technology Description</p> <p>Demonstrated ability to access and navigate appropriate technology systems used in admissions.
