<p>Director of School Improvement and Leadership Transformation</p> <p>JOB STATUS: OPEN POSTING DATE: 06/04/2025 CLOSING DATE: 06/17/2025 04:00 PM POSTING NUMBER: 050081 LOCATION: Admin Teaching & Learning - 874 POSITION TITLE: Director of School Improvement and Leadership Transformation</p> <p>JOB DESCRIPTION:</p> <p>This supplemental position has been approved for the upcoming school year. The position is partially funded with Title I, Part A and Title II, Part A funding as allowable under ESSA. It will require time and effort to demonstrate duties performed that reflect the intent and purpose of both the Title I and Title II programs. In the absence of funds and/or the needs of the district, continuation of this position can be rescinded.</p> <p>Work closely with directors, assistant superintendents, campus leaders and key personnel to provide leadership, support, guidance and training in the continuous school improvement/turnaround process for identified low and underperforming campuses. Direct the District's school improvement processes and leadership development programs as well as assessment and testing programs. Function as a positive, effective employee of Conroe ISD directing, researching, and providing other services as needed to local campus personnel.</p> <p>DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for assisting with the design, implementation, and evaluation of school leadership development programs. </li><li>Responsible for working directly with campus leadership to improve student performance and campus accountability results. </li><li>Responsible for ensuring that campus learning plans are aligned to District instructional practices and priorities. </li><li>Provide leadership, coordination, professional development, and data analysis. </li><li>Lead the district on how to best identify areas in need of improvement at all levels. </li><li>Formulate and supports attainment of data-driven goals aligned to the District's vision for teaching and learning. </li><li>Ability to facilitate the District and the campus in the Texas Education Agency's Effective Schools Framework process. </li><li>Analyze and use data to help guide decisions, generate solutions and implement change. </li><li>Analyze student performance data to guide and oversee the implementation and evaluation of specific improvement plans for any student groups, content areas or individual campuses where results fall below district expectations. </li><li>Work collaboratively with district and campus leadership to assure the effective implementation of the school improvement plan process that includes creating measureable long-term goals and short-term objectives as well as aligned strategies, activities, milestones, professional development plans, and budget expenditures. </li><li>Monitor school performance through the use of lesson observations, collaborative campus instructional walks with key leaders, on the spot coaching, and other forms of qualitative and quantitative data. </li><li>Provide leadership support, guidance, and training to assistant superintendents, campus leaders, and key personnel in the continuous school improvement/turnaround process. </li><li>Assist campuses with the improvement of instruction in areas as defined as deficient by the TAPR, RDA, state, District, and campus assessments, etc. </li><li>Take an active role in problem solving with campus leadership team. </li><li>Implement training for administrators and instructional leadership teams on district initiatives including best practices in school improvement. </li><li>Facilitate research based instructional practices. </li><li>Provide follow-up and coaching activities to principals and instructional leadership teams that are designed to ensure effective implementation of district/school learning goals. </li><li>Ensure the district is providing equitable and quality educational opportunities for its students. </li><li>Coordinate the administration and interpretation of state-mandated testing and standardized test instruments used by the District Curriculum and Instructional Department, including STAAR, EOC, TELPAS, NAEP, Tech Literacy, etc. </li><li>Observe and monitors testing processes and procedures at the district and campus levels. </li><li>Provide leadership for both campus and district teams on the use of assessments, data analysis, and the continuous improvement process. </li><li>Provide leadership in the ongoing development and facilitation of the Accountability System. </li><li>Assess district schools identified for improvement and/or scoring below state target levels for the purpose of coordinating appropriate district and state support. </li><li>Assist schools with assessing school needs and services, instructional programs, and strategies for improving instruction to ensure that all students learn at their highest potential. </li><li>Support the efforts of general education, special education, and bilingual/ESL education curriculum departments in the education of District and campus staff on the value and decision-making processes for all state assessment programs. </li><li>Facilitate communication and understanding of federal and state accountability reports and requirements with district personnel. </li><li>Utilize communication and interpersonal skills to make effective presentations designed to communicate to the public the results of District assessments, program evaluations, and state/federal accountability reports. </li><li>Provide training for district and campus staff on the utilization and interpretation of Assessment Literacy and the use of student performance data to influence instructional decision making. </li><li>Understand, monitor, and train staff on Conroe ISD Data Systems used to manage, evaluate, and interpret student assessment data. </li><li>Maintain regular attendance. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li>Three or more years campus principal experience at a high-needs campus </li><li>Demonstrated school turnaround success </li><li>Thorough knowledge of systems planning and improvement </li><li>Thorough knowledge of federal and state assessment and accountability </li><li>Thorough knowledge of school improvement models using data </li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of best practices related to the implementation of district initiatives </li><li>Knowledge of and experience using various testing instruments </li><li>Ability to multi-task while meeting sensitive deadlines </li><li>Knowledge of Assessment Literacy and Data Analysis Tools </li><li>Knowledge of improvement processes and the Texas Education Agency's Effective Schools Leadership Framework </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Education/Certification:</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree </li><li>Valid Texas Principal Certification </li><li>Instructional Leadership Training (ILT) or Advancing Educational Leadership (AEL) </li><li>District approved teacher appraisal system </li></ul> <p>Special Knowledge/Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Strong instructional leadership skills </li><li>Good interpersonal skills </li><li>Good organization and planning skills </li><li>Strong initiative and decision-making skills </li><li>Strong logistical, planning, and problem-solving skills </li><li>Ability to adapt communication appropriately for purpose and audience </li><li>Ability to work as part of a team, lead, and accept constructive feedback </li><li>Highly skilled in identifying, creating, and utilizing data in manner which improves student outcomes </li><li>Significant understanding of effective
