The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality reading instruction to students, fostering a positive learning environment, and supporting the academic growth of all students.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Plan and deliver engaging reading lessons aligned with Connecticut State Standards. </li><li>Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback and support. </li><li>Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students. </li><li>Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administrators to support student success. </li><li>Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance. </li><li>Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement. </li><li>Implement effective classroom management strategies to ensure a safe and productive learning environment. </li><li>Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in reading instruction. </li><li>Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and any concerns. </li><li>Adhere to all school policies and procedures, including those related to student safety and confidentiality. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field. </li><li>Valid Connecticut teaching certification or eligibility for a Long-Term Substitute authorization. </li><li>Strong knowledge of reading instruction and literacy development. </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and administrators. </li><li>Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Previous experience teaching reading at the high school level. </li><li>Familiarity with Connecticut State Standards and curriculum. </li></ul>
